Sami Zayn Sets His Sights On World Heavyweight Title

Sami Zayn is rising towards the next wrestling event in WWE to take down Gunther and conquer the all-important World Heavyweight Championship. Even though they have had a very storied past where he was the only one who could pin Gunther in WWE, the challenges are bigger.
As both men have experienced or tasted the championship before, Zayn again wants to get back on top of the ladder after defeating Gunther. Epic showdown seems to be the possible outcome of this fight, leaving the WWE Universe to wonder what will be next between these two wrestlers.

Gunther’s Response To Sami Zayn’s Challenge

The challenge was disputed by Gunther who came with a quick countermove of undermining Zayn’s capability. He said he has never placed Zayn among the legendary names he talks about. Gunther acknowledged his determination and resilience, stating that he respected him for always getting back up despite challenges.

However, Zayn also emphasized that his strictness was necessary, not out of appreciation, but to maintain his standards of competition. And when it comes to the pinfall, Gunther tried to hush him recalling a time when the latter mentioned that he was the only wrestler with whom he had lost in WWE. This victory happened on the biggest stage of them all, WrestleMania 40 when he dethroned Gunther of the Intercontinental Championship. This was a title that Gunther was holding for 666 days straight. at WrestleMania, Sami Zayn made history when he was victorious as the greatest title reign was over.

A Rivalry Rekindled

After winning the title at WrestleMania, Sami Zayn continued to rule the roost as the Intercontinental champion up to SummerSlam before dropping the belt to Bron Breakker. Meanwhile, Gunther emerged as the World Heavyweight Champion after he won the coveted belt at SummerSlam to join the list of the program winners Bash in Berlin which saw him defeating Randy Orton in a very closely contested fight. Now that both competitors had sampled the taste of the gold, Owens was eager to regain his lost crown and ready to challenge his rival.

With this kind of rivalry growing between WWE’s two biggest rivals, it only leaves the WWE Universe expecting the unpredictable. Will Sami Zayn be able to become a new World Heavyweight Champion or will the German powerhouse Gunther retain the title?
