Roman Reigns Return Looms Over SummerSlam 2024

With SummerSlam 2024 coming up on August 3rd, 2024, many fans are speculating a potential return regarding The Tribal Chief Roman Reigns. Reigns has not been seen since WrestleMania 40, where he lost to Cody Rhodes in the main event for the Undisputed WWE Championship.

Since then, Solo Sikoa has taken over The Bloodline, as he had kicked all old members from the faction and added his own. This included verbally removing Roman from The Bloodline, and crowning himself as The Tribal Chief. Reigns has not been vocal about the situation, but considering the timeline and how the storyline is progressing, it’s very likely that he will appear at SummerSlam 2024.

Solo Sikoa’s Bloodline

Ever since WrestleMania 40, Solo Sikoa has created his own Bloodline which has completely new members of his choice. Gone are Paul Heyman and Jimmy Uso, and Tonga Loa, Tama Tonga, and Jacob Fatu came in. All these wrestlers either have relations or are members of the Anoa’i Family, but none of them were added with Roman’s permission.

Solo Sikoa also removed Roman Reigns from The Bloodline in a segment on the July 5th edition of Friday Night Smackdown. This was very clearly done without Roman’s permission, and the idea of which faction is considered the real Bloodline will become complicated when the original Tribal Chief returns. He later stated that if Roman ever decides to come back, he would have to acknowledge him.

Roman’s Bloodline consisted of Jimmy Uso and Paul Heyman, and previously Jey Uso and Sami Zayn, both of who will likely rejoin the faction to help Roman take back control of the faction that belongs to him. They will likely face the new version of The Bloodline in a WarGames match.

Roman Reigns No Longer Scheduled for Smackdown Before SummerSlam

WrestleMania 40

One of the main reasons why fans believe that Roman Reigns will return at SummerSlam is because he was originally reported to be scheduled for the Smackdown the night before the show. However, it was later revealed that Roman was no longer going to be advertised for this show as his name was removed from the WWE page for that episode.

This means that the plan may have changed to have Roman Reigns now return at SummerSlam, as it makes sense for him to return in a much bigger moment than he was originally supposed to. The reason for this speculation is that since Reigns seemed to be ready to come back during this time anyway, the WWE has probably changed their plans to make him return a day later. A Roman return at this point also perfectly aligns with the current stage of The Bloodline storyline, as Sikoa has completely taken over now.

This also means that there will likely be no story progression on tonight’s show, and it will continue to just set up the match that has been built over the last few months. Since Roman is no longer scheduled to appear on Smackdown, neither Jey Uso nor Jimmy Uso will likely be there as well.

Will Roman Reigns Return at SummerSlam 2024?

Roman Reigns will certainly be returning at SummerSlam 2024 and will interfere in the main event match between Cody Rhodes and Solo Sikoa for the Undisputed WWE Championship. Solo has done everything in his power to disrespect The Tribal Chief and go against what he originally wanted, and he’s continuing to do that by going after his championship.

Roman will return at SummerSlam, but the question is will he return alone? A former WWE employee stated that he believes Reigns will return with a reunited Bloodline, as he will have both The Usos by his side following their WrestleMania 40 clash. This means that The Bloodline will likely see themselves in another civil war situation, similar to the one they had in the summer of 2023.

According to WrestleVotes, Reigns will also be returning with a new nickname, as he will be referred to as “The Original Tribal Chief.” The reason for this is that Solo Sikoa has taken it upon himself to name himself The Tribal Chief, and this will let fans know that Roman has had nothing to do with Solo or what he has been doing in the past few months.
