However, failed to take the team across the line as Australia lost the match by 24 runs. This win was very important for India to establish their serious contention in the tournament, and they proved it by becoming the T20 World Cup champions.

His splendid performance in that match against Australia earned Rohit Sharma the man of the match honor. These included his convincing victory when he led India to victory over one of the world’s best bowlers in a high-pressure T20 final against Pakistan.
