Rohit Sharma in Tears, Comforted by Great Virat Kohli | T20 WC 2024

An emotional moment between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma was filmed after India defeated England to advance to the T20 World Cup 2024 final.

Rohit Sharma has exacted his revenge from Adelaide to Guyana. Rohit and India go to the T20 World Cup final after being thrashed by ten wickets and blasting England by picking up all ten of their own.

The sight of Rohit breaking down in the dugout after their T20 World Cup final aspirations were shattered made an indelible impression.

It took two years, but payback was served cold when India crushed England by 68 runs in a one-sided encounter to advance to their second World Cup final in seven months. Virat Kohli tries to console Rohit Sharma after the Indian captain is overcome with emotion.

Rohit Sharma Leads India To Best Victory

This victory deserves to be celebrated, but Rohit and the boys have bigger goals ahead of them. This is the final in two days. Understanding the gravity of the situation, Rohit kept his cool as the rest of the crew panicked.

Soon after India skittled England for 103 in their pursuit of 172 and had finished shaking hands and exchanging pleasantries, Rohit sat silently in the dressing room balcony, lost in thought.

Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma’s teammate, attempted to cheer up his captain, or at least get a grin from him. But that wasn’t to be. Rohit sat in that chair, his razor-sharp mind set on Saturday’s final versus South Africa.

Rohit Sharma’s face shows relief. Sitting in that chair. What should he be thinking? He has already expressed interest in Bridgetown. What can we expect from Saturday’s final? Former India head coach Ravi Shastri stated on commentary, wonderfully capturing the mindset of the Indian captain.

Rohit has led India to the finals of three ICC competitions in the last year, including the World Test Championship in June 2023, the 50-overs World Cup in November, and now this. Yes, everyone declared seven months ago that this is India’s best chance to win a World Cup.

Rohit Sharma’s Remarkable Leadership Record

Under Rohit Sharma, India has lost just two World Cup/Championship games in the last 18. All the while, the captain has led from the front, setting an example for the rest of the team.

This is the same guy who took it upon himself to revolutionize the way India plays Twenty20 cricket. He realized on November 10, 2022, that if India is to be regarded as a serious and strong threat by the opposition, being timid cannot be the way forward.

As a result, the careful and watchful approach was replaced with a completely new pattern. Rohit batted using the template in the 50-overs World Cup, nearly leading India to victory. A few months later, nothing has changed, as Rohit remains the personification of this new Indian T20I setup.

If you thought Rohit Sharma’s 92 against Australia was impressive, his 57 off 39 balls was even better. The ball remained low and had almost no pace.

There were times when Adil Rashid‘s deliveries took forever to reach Rohit. Although playing a completely different innings than the one in St. Lucia, Rohit read the conditions better than anyone else.

The skipper remained unfazed despite six fours, two sixes, and a very long rain delay. Suryakumar Yadav, a T20 cricket legend, helped him on the other end, getting 47 off 36 balls, but Rohit’s knock was something unique. Probably one of his most critical innings.
