Baltimore Ravens Address Biggest Needs in Impressive 2024 NFL Draft

Baltimore Ravens Roger Rosengarten

The Baltimore Ravens did some serious work on their primary needs so far in the first two days of the 2024 NFL Draft. While needs like wide receiver, interior offensive line, defensive line, linebacker, safety, and running back could still be in the cards, those can be addressed on day three.

With six picks in rounds four to seven, I would expect the Ravens to be busy today sticking and picking or possible trade-up scenarios for their guys. So far, Baltimore has stayed put at their three picks the last two days.

The Baltimore Ravens mantra is normally best player available, but with so many needs and enough picks to address those needs, they should be checking off those boxes and getting younger at plenty of the positions listed.

Baltimore Ravens: Add Starting Right Tackle Round 2

Roger Rosengarten can play left or right tackle and was Michael Penix Jr.‘s blindside at Washington. He would be an instant day-one starter at right tackle, competing with Daniel Faalele.

The Baltimore Ravens drafted him at 62 overall, getting a solid pass protector for Lamar Jackson. The 21-year-old at 6’5″ and 308 pounds is an athlete at the position. Rosengarten was a reliable starter for the Huskies the last two seasons.

He helped the Washington offensive line win the Joe Moore Award as the best offensive line unit in college football for 2023. Rosengarten can be a physical brawler in the run game but his best trait is pass blocking.

The junior let up zero sacks in 1,158 career pass-blocking snaps in college and can be a plug-and-play right tackle.

Rosengarten also has the traits to make a move inside to guard if needed, as the Baltimore Ravens have a need there as well.

Baltimore Ravens: Draft Starting Cornerback Round 1

In the first round, the Baltimore Ravens drafted Nate Wiggins, the cornerback from Clemson. At 6’1″ and 173 pounds, the 20-year-old junior is a fast corner with the length to play on the outside.

He has unique recovery acceleration and can hang with anyone deep with his movement skills. Wiggins was the third corner taken at 30th overall in round one. The Clemson Tiger has the potential to have high ball production in the NFL and is aggressive in run support.

In 2022, Wiggins had 11 pass deflections and one interception for a touchdown. In 2023, he had six pass deflections and two picks, scoring one for a touchdown.

He was first-team All-Acc in 2023 and can be a playmaker for the Ravens secondary. Baltimore needed a boundary corner, so Wiggins could pair with Marlon Humphrey and Brandon Stephens.

Baltimore Ravens: Get Versatile Edge Rusher Round 3

The Ravens get pass rush depth at edge, taking Penn State’s Adisa Isaac 92nd overall in round three. He joins teammate Odafe Oweh from college as a former Nittany Lion.

Isaac can be a rotational pass rusher with veteran Kyle Van Noy, David Ojabo, and former rookie Tavius Robinson last year. He was First-team All-Big-Ten in 2023 and Third-team All-Big Ten in 2022.

At 6’4″ and 247 pounds, Isaac can be a future starting 3-4 outside linebacker. He has a good trio of traits like motor, athletic tools, and pass-rush length to be a contributor in a rotation.

The 22-year-old senior broke out last season with 7.5 sacks, 16 tackles for loss, and a forced fumble. Some say he was a better projection than his teammate and first-round pick Chop Robinson due to the production and prototypical NFL size at the position.
