Ramon Taveras is a bantamweight champion who was going to fight in UFC 304. But something happened before the fight and he is now not able to compete in the octagon. The reason might be obvious to you, it is the injury as many fighters back off from their fights due to injuries and the reasons seem valid. The Fighter was going to fight in Manchester, England but now he won’t be able to join due to serious injury. Taveras was going to fight Caolan Loughran this time on July 27. Now it’s obvious that he has withdrawn from the July 27 event at Co-op Live in Manchester, England, due to a serious injury.

He shared the news in a detailed Instagram post on Wednesday. Ramon Taveras has fought about 12 fights and he has won 10 fights, while on the other side, he lost only two fights.

“It’s unfortunate I have to make a post like this but I’m going to trust in God’s plan and make the smart decision to avoid making my situation worse and prolong my return,” Taveras wrote on Instagram. He was set to fight Ireland’s Caolan Loughran, who holds a 9-1 record in MMA and a 1-1 record in the UFC. It is currently uncertain if a replacement for Ramon Taveras will be found. “Today I had to pull from my fight next Saturday due to a serious injury. I worked so hard this fight camp and it sucks that it came to this.”

Being a fighter means being mentally prepared for every situation. It is necessary to have physical capabilities to over obstacles and dominate your opponent but it becomes very hard for a fighter to have higher physical capabilities if is going through mental problems like depression. A Fighter who is suffering from depression, anxiety, or such a problem, cannot compete against such a powerful opponent. Especially opponents like Caolan Loughran, who has lost a single fight in his nine fights.

But as a great achievement for Ramon, he was suffering from depression and he overcame his mental illness. He not only fought his illness but also trained well in the gym and he transformed into the best version of himself that he has ever been. “I worked my way out of depression and into getting in the best shape I’ve been in,” Ramon Taveras wrote.

He didn’t mention further about his injury like what part of his body was physically suffering from injury, but he mentioned and promised that he would be in shape throughout the time of recovery. Otherwise, the result will be much worse than what was before. He clarified about his training in the following words “I stayed disciplined and got myself out of being fat (176) and mentally fu*ked. … But I promise to keep this same mentality during my recovery and become the best version of myself through this recovery process.”

He clarified to his fans that he will be the best version of himself when he comes back and will not them down, as they deserve the best version of him.

Taveras didn’t go into detail about the injury, but he mentioned that his training camp had been a tough mental and physical struggle, ultimately leading to this unfortunate outcome. Known for speaking his mind, Loughran quickly expressed his frustration on social media following Ramon Taveras’ announcement. He made it clear that he still wants to compete in the upcoming event.
