Ramiz Raja’s Scathing Critique: Pakistan’s Setback and World Cup Worries

Ramiz Raja

The former Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Ramiz Raja, has a frank view of the recent unconvincing performance of the side. Especially, after they lost a match against Ireland by a margin of 67 runs in the first of the best of 3 matches. However, the loss has come at the right time for the side, just before the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in June.

Raja has raised questions about the team’s gameplay and player selection technique. These critiques have led the former chief selector, Rimaz, to state his concerns and disappointment. This loss has made the Pakistani fans very disappointed and has caused criticism of them.

Among the points pointed out by Ramiz Raja was the drop of the Pakistani cricket team out of the top-tier position of the International Cricket Council’s T20 rankings. From their former place as one of the best cricket-playing nations.

He highlighted the depletion of the playing XI’s aura and mentioned the constant changes in the squad captaincy. Match-day XI selection is indicative of the incompetence and unstable leadership within the team.

The batting line-up is an issue

Ramiz Raja was worried that the batting line-up in Pakistan was vulnerable, specifically the discontinuity and lack of a firmer middle order. He had his team in doubt as regards their ability to kick the ball during pressured games, especially in the T20 World Cup.

These words of Ramiz Raja further underline that the very basic problem of batting woes needs to be addressed. By addressing more issues, a more reliable and robust batting order needs to be built within the team.

Ramiz Raja was taking no risks, expressing that he was pretty sure that Pakistan would not win the T-20 World Cup. They have not been doing so well lately. He emphasized Pakistan’s characteristic of being a rising power, like India and Australia, but with relatively less standing.

As it stands, Ramiz’s doubts were indicative of a widespread, but not so obvious, concern about the country’s capability of meeting the world’s competitive requirements.

Issues in the Bowling Department

Ramiz Raja

Considering batting woes, Ramiz Raja identified the flaws in the bowling department of Pakistan, chiefly its lack of ability to defend a decent total against Ireland. This affects them negatively because their bowling mainly suffers from such problems as full tosses and pitches that are too high.  That dealt blows to their effectiveness and their ability to produce the best in difficult moments.

Ramiz Raja’s plain analysis of Pakistan cricket goes about as a reminder, requesting that the squad redress its shortfall. team has to prove its technique before the Twenty20 World Cup. The Pakistani teams and players, along with the PCB are facing a tough stage; they have to resolve the mistakes. The team will recover from small issues to play well in the T20 World Cup.
