Rahul Dravid’s Cheeky And Exclusive Remark Leaves Virat Kohli in Splits

For the first time in 128 years and the second time in the history of the Summer Olympics, cricket will be a part of the event, which is slated to be held in Los Angeles in 2028. Given that India was hoping to win gold, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wanted to know from the outgoing head coach, Rahul Dravid, what the preparations were for the Olympics.

During a new cooperation, Rahul Dravid, the active head Coach of the Indian cricket team, showed his brand name mind that left Virat Kohli, the previous Indian team captain, in attacks of chuckling. The carefree moment happened during a conversation about cricket’s consideration in the 2028 Olympics, a critical achievement denoting the game’s return after a long time.

As the discussion went to India’s arrangements for the Olympics, PM Narendra Modi looked for Dravid’s bits of knowledge on how the team could best plan to get gold. Known for his made disposition and sharp perceptions, Dravid answered in a way that surprised everybody, including Kohli, who was noticeably entertained by the coach’s mind.

Rahul Dravid’s Cheeky Remark

Following his earnest response, Rahul Dravid added a humorous remark: “

Youngsters like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli might be there to represent India in the Olympics 2028.

This comment left Kohli surprised; he fumed, and later on, he was able to crack up and nod in approval with folded hands.

Kohli’s reaction stemmed from the fact that cricket, returning to the Olympics for the first time since 1900, will likely be in the T20 format. Kohli, having recently retired from T20 internationals after the T20 World Cup win in Barbados, found the idea amusing as he will not be participating in the 2028 Olympics despite being a major advocate for the sport’s inclusion in the event.

Meeting with the Prime Minister

The Indian cricket team that won the T20 World Cup in Barbados last week had a meeting with PM Modi at his residence in the morning. Concerning the meeting held between the players, some of the issues that were addressed included the performances of the players in the tournament.

This led the Prime Minister to ask the minister how India was planning to host the 2028 Olympics, stressing the need to claim victory.

Thus, Rahul Dravid explained the importance of the Olympics to both the cricketers and the country. He observed that it would be a great honor for the players to get the chance to represent India on such a prestigious forum and get to know the other sportsmen in the Indian team.

Addressing Modi ji, Rahul Dravid, who is one of the former great cricketers of India, said:

We cricketers don’t get the opportunity to participate in the Olympics, but now that cricket is going to be part of the Olympics, it is going to become big for the cricketers, the nation, and the cricket board.

Confidence in Preparation

Despite the humorous exchange, Rahul Dravid expressed confidence in India’s preparation for the Olympics. He assured that the BCCI, along with the players and coaches at that time, would be well-prepared to win the elusive gold medal.

I am confident that the BCCI and the players and the coaches at that time will be prepared. I am confident that from this team, a lot of people will be part of the team. Winning a gold in the Olympics is a great matter of pride and happiness. We need to fully prepare for that.

India’s journey to the 2028 Olympics promises to be an exciting chapter for cricket fans, with hopes pinned on a strong performance and a potential gold medal win.
