This brilliant display of power hitting came after a scintillating inning of 76 runs against Uganda, which established him as one of the strongest openers in the tournament.
Rahmanullah Gurbaz got the requisite support from Ibrahim Zadran, who played a sensible knock of 44 runs off 41 balls. His contribution was vital to setting up Afghanistan’s total, especially when the pitch in Guyana was not easy to bat upon.
