Bournemouth’s complete comeback against Luton Town sealed a 4-3 win at Vitality Stadium. Luton led the first half before a turnaround of events to remain in the Premier League relegation zone. Despite their impressive performance in the first half, Luton Town could not manage their opponent in the second half. Bournemouth sealed another history after becoming the fifth team to win from a 3-0 defeat.
Bournemouth Comeback Against Luton
The first half was nothing but Luton Town’s dominance, with earlier first-half goals leading to a 0-3 win. Luton showcased their attacking prowess with Tahith Chong’s goals in the first nine minutes of the first half. Moreover, Chiedozie Ogbene’s second and Ross Barkley’s third goals completed the first half, with Luton Town leading at Vitality Stadium.
However, the second half came with magic. Bournemouth dominated the second half and made an impressive comeback, completing the match with a 4-3 win margin. Dominick Solake breathed new life into Bournemouth with a goal five minutes after the break. Bournemouth fans saw the light after the second goal from Illia Zabanyi.
Antoine Semenyo’s 64th goal shut Luton Town’s dream; they were out of the relegation zone in the first half. Semenyo gave Bournemouth the winning goal in the 83rd minute to seal a 4-3 win against Luton. The Ghanaian international gave Bournemouth an unforgettable three points to 13th position in the Premier League table.
Luton’s Manager Frustrated
Luton Town’s defeat placed them in the 18th position in the Premier League table, three points behind Nottingham Forest. Luton Town’s manager, Rob Edwards, was not impressed with the results, however. “We did not win enough after the break. Either we didn’t defend enough, or they overpowered us,” said the frustrated Edwards.
“We put ourselves in a good position during the first half. Of course, it hurts. We had an opportunity to win the game,’’ added Luton’s manager. Luton will be facing Nottingham Forest on Saturday. A win will mean a lot for Luton. “We have got to accept that. But if we win on Saturday, we’re out of the bottom three,” added Edwards.
With just 10 games left until the end of the Premier League, Luton Town will be under pressure regarding their position. “We’re still in the fight. Now you start running out of games, and the pressure will build,” concluded Edwards. On the other hand, Bournemouth will be facing Everton on March 30th, after the international break and FA Cup fixture this weekend.
