The Portugal women’s team are following in the steps of the men’s team who beat Bosnia and Herzegovina last year 3-0 in Euros Qualifiers. This time, it was their turn. And they cruised past Bosnia with the same tenacity as Ronaldo’s side, netting three goals in only 40 minutes for a comfortable win. Let’s see what we can expect from Portugal during the Euros and how this win played out minute by minute.

Portugal vs. Bosnia was one of the main games in the Women’s Euros Qualifiers competition in Group B3. Currently, Portugal are 1st in the group, whereas the loss moves Bosnia and Herzegovina down to the bottom of the table.
Before the game even started, people considered Portugal to be the favorite. For those betting aficionados out there, we hope you didn’t put any money on Bosnia, as the odds of Portugal winning were 84%. C. Costa scored in the 28th minute, off of a beautiful assist by L. Alves.
Bosnia and Herzegovina couldn’t find their footing, or the ball in the first half. They had two yellow cards to M. Gacanica and A. Krso, both of which didn’t help them as tried to find a rhythm and flow in the game. Plus, right before halftime, G. Sliskovic netted a goal that saw Bosnia and Herzegovina go down 2-0 right before walking into the changing rooms.
In the second half, Bosnia and Herzegovina made two subs to try and bring new life to the team, fielding M. Hasanbegovic and C. Japic. Despite the changes, D. Silva – a super sub who just came on for Portugal – scored only one minute after subbing into the game.
At this point, Bosnia seems to had resigned to losing to Portugal and made four more subs to rest tired legs and give other players a chance in a major tournament.
Portugal, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Group B3
Group B3 is part of Leagues B and C in the Euros Qualifiers who need to face one another to move on to the next round. Portugal and Northern Ireland both played in the Women’s Euros in 2022 in England. On the other hand, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Malta are newcomers who are trying to get just a few points on the table.
We think Portugal and Northern Ireland will easily win out of this group and continue to the playoffs. We love seeing the best players on the international stage.
