This rough patch came as a shock as Suarez was the best pitcher in Major League Baseball over the first few months of the regular season. He was even named the National League Pitcher of the Month for April. Suarez had a sub-2 ERA before his start on June 30 against the Marlins, which was the beginning of this slump. Suarez is 10-3 this season with an ERA of 2.58. Even after a dreadful last two starts, Suarez is still tied for third in wins, fifth in ERA, and 12th in WHIP.
