Philadelphia Eagles Wide Receiver DeVonta Smith’s accolades continue to be extremely impressive. He caught a 46-yard touchdown from Quarterback Jalen Hurts to give the Philadelphia Eagles a 24-0 lead late in the third quarter of Super Bowl LIX. Smith finished with 4 grabs for 69 yards as the Eagles won 40-22. Smith made history as the fifth player ever to win a Heisman Trophy, a National Championship, and a Super Bowl. He joined Reggie Bush, Tony Dorsett, Marcus Allen, and Charles Woodson on that illustrious list.
Smith has been a consistent performer at Alabama and with the Philadelphia Eagles. He has also caught a touchdown pass in the Super Bowl, National Championship Game, SEC Championship Game, Rose Bowl, Orange Bowl, and the Iron Bowl. With a strong playoff run, Smith became the franchise leader in postseason receiving yards. Will the star Eagles wide receiver be able to keep winning on football’s biggest stages in 2025 and beyond?

The Kansas City Chiefs did a great job limiting Running Back Saquon Barkley. He set the record for the most rushing yards in a single season(regular season and playoffs) earlier in the Super Bowl. Barkley was limited to 57 rushing yards. It was his second-lowest output of the season. Barkley’s ineffectiveness changed the complexion of the game.
The winner of Super Bowl LIX would hang on the right arm of Hurts. Hurts had the best game of his career on the biggest stage of his life. Hurts was named Super Bowl MVP going 17-of-22 for 221 yards and 3 total touchdowns(2 passing and 1 rushing.) Smith and Wide Receiver A.J. Brown also had their way with the Kansas City secondary. They finished with 112 combined receiving yards and 2 receiving touchdowns.
Final Thoughts
It seems that wherever Smith goes, winning follows. He has been a key player for the Philadelphia Eagles in his four career seasons. Smith will look to come back even better next season, continue adding to his trophy case, and deliver when the lights are the brightest.
