The Philadelphia Eagles look to keep up their success in the NFC Divisional Round against the Los Angeles Rams. Philadelphia is an NFL-best 6-0 during that round at home and win by about two touchdowns on average. Philadelphia last played in the Divisional Round in January 2023 against the New York Giants and dominated them 38-7.
The Philadelphia Eagles advanced to this round following a 22-10 win against a Green Bay Packers team that melted down. Philadelphia’s offense did not play up to its full potential in the previous game. Quarterback Jalen Hurts finished with a sub-standard 131 passing yards to go along with two touchdown passes.
These offensive woes led star Wide Receiver A.J. Brown to catch up on his reading while on the sidelines. It is tough to determine if Brown was disgruntled with his lack of involvement, or if he was doing something that he always does while on the sideline. Earlier this season, Brown expressed his frustration with the team’s passing game. Will the Philadelphia Eagles be able to extend their winning streak in this round of the NFL Playoffs?

The Eagles welcome the Los Angeles Rams to town on Sunday afternoon with a berth in the NFC Championship Game hanging in the balance. These teams faced off in November in Los Angeles which the Eagles won 37-20. Hurts had a middling game, but Eagles Running Back Saquon Barley was great. He finished with a career-high 255 rushing yards along with two rushing touchdowns. If Barkley plays like that on Sunday, the Philadelphia Eagles will have a good chance to win.
Philadelphia will have to contend with a Rams defense coming off one of the best defensive performances in postseason history against the Minnesota Vikings. They sacked Vikings Quarterback Sam Darnold a whopping nine times and forced two turnovers. Protecting Hurts will be a major determining factor in which team wins.
Final Thoughts
Rams Quarterback Matthew Stafford, one of the best performers in postseason history, will need to be at his best this weekend in a frigid Philadelphia. The Rams are a steep six-point road underdog, and Philadelphia’s history in this round provides credence to that. Ultimately, Hurts must find his playoff form from a few years ago when he helped propel the Eagles to the Super Bowl. The Philadelphia Eagles have arguably one of the league’s best rosters, but their quarterback may be the roster’s lone weakness.
