Philadelphia Eagles Have Important Player Reinstated Following 1-Year Suspension

Philadelphia Eagles

After being suspended for the entire 2023 NFL season Philadelphia Eagles’, cornerback Isaiah Rodgers has been reinstated by the league. With the NFL reinstating players from gambling, the Eagles defensive back will return with a vengeance. Philadelphia will have the return of a key depth player for their secondary and improve the defense.

The NFL recently reinstating players from the recent gambling punishment shows their restraint on the issue. Along with reinstating players, after a year, the NFL is giving these players leniency in their punishments. The NFL could also give players another chance to do well in their teams, especially Isaiah Rodgers. While it’s good to give players another chance, it could also lead to greater scandals.

This could be a second chance for Isaiah Rodgers in the Philadelphia Eagles and at the NFL.

The Philadelphia Eagles getting Isaiah Rodgers reinstated will greatly help the special teams unit. Isaiah Rodgers could have a good year with the Eagles’ special teams with one punt return for a touchdown. Philadelphia special teams last season were a top-ten team and could improve on punt returns. The Philadelphia Eagles could have a strong special teams unit and Rodgers could fit perfectly.

While Rodgers is known as a special teams player, he could impact the defense. The Eagles getting Isaiah Rodgers reinstated will help the secondary and a need for the defense. Rodgers will fill out the need of the Eagles’ secondary with their defensive secondary stars. Rodgers could have a breakout season like in 2021, with three career interceptions and two forced fumbles.

Could The Reinstating This Philadelphia Eagles Player Start A Dark Trend?

The NFL reinstating players in the league from last year’s gambling violation policy shows improvement for the players. While the policy and the rulings are harsh, it shows that players are listening to the rules. It also shows that gambling, while being sponsored, is not obliged to the players. The rulings also are not as harsh as other sports leagues but are showing leniency to them.

For the NFL to reinstate the players, could start the conversation of gambling athletes and punishing them. The sports leagues set a precedent by sponsoring gambling in their league, and players will risk betting on games. While the punishment was a full year, players could still gamble. For the NFL reinstating these players won’t cause backlash now, but could have people look at it as easing going.

Final Thoughts

After being reinstated, this could be the last chance for Isaiah Rodgers in the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles’ secondary and special team player could do well after suspension. Even if he is not utilized, Rodgers is vital due to his youth in an aging secondary unit. For the Philadelphia Eagles, having a younger defensive back will help the defense improve for the 2024 season.

This shows that the NFL policy is working and being lenient on punishing gambling players. A major issue that could happen is players will keep doing it. Even if the policy is doing well in enforcing the rules, it could get violated again. The NFL problem with players’ gambling won’t end sadly and while reinstating players is good in concept could end poorly.
