The Philadelphia Eagles set a postseason record for the most points scored in a single postseason run with 145. They punctuated their postseason run by drubbing the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 in Super Bowl LIX. Philadelphia’s Cinderella postseason run began with a 22-10 victory against the Green Bay Packers. It continued with a 28-22 win over the Los Angeles Rams and a 55-23 blowout over the Washington Commanders to punch their ticket to the Super Bowl. Philadelphia’s 55 points set an NFC Championship Game record.
Running Back Saquon Barkley had a tremendous regular season and kept it going during the NFL Playoffs. Even though the star running back was kept in check during the Super Bowl with 57 rushing yards, the Eagles would not have won the Super Bowl without his services. Barkley still finished with the third-most rushing yards in a single postseason and the most rushing yards in a single season(regular season and postseason included.)
Quarterback Jalen Hurts also proved the naysayers wrong by having the best game of his career on the game’s biggest stage. Will a historic postseason for their offense be a sign of things to come for the Philadelphia Eagles?

The Philadelphia Eagles offense having a historic postseason run was unexpected. It was an offseason of turmoil on the offensive side of the ball with most of it centering around Wide Receiver A.J. Brown. His two controversial episodes of the season came when he said the team must improve its “passing” and when he was reading a book on the sidelines during the team’s Wild Card Round victory over the Green Bay Packers. Whether these episodes were blown out of proportion or not, it was not all smooth sailing for the Philadelphia Eagles offense during the year.
Philadelphia’s offense, while strong during the regular season, was not a historic unit. They were eighth in total yards per game and seventh in points scored. What gave the Philadelphia Eagles such a dominant postseason run was an unprecedented offensive performance paired with a defense that continued to be the best in the National Football League. The Eagles defense forced a whopping 13 turnovers this postseason.
Final Thoughts
The Philadelphia Eagles should be just as good next season, if not better. Hurts will have his full complement of weapons return including Barkley, Brown, and Wide Receiver DeVonta Smith. Philadelphia’s offense should also be one of the league’s best units in 2025.
