The Philadelphia Eagles will have two key members back for their Wild Card matchup at home against the Green Bay Packers. Wide Receiver A.J. Brown and Quarterback Jalen Hurts are ready for Sunday’s playoff game.
Brown has been unable to practice for much of the week with a knee injury he suffered in Week 15. Even though Brown was able to play, and play well, in Week 16 and 17 his status for Sunday’s game was unknown. Brown himself confirmed his status by saying,” I know I’m banged up, but everybody is.” Hurts has missed the last two weeks with a concussion. Hurts cleared concussion protocol earlier this week and was a full participant at Thursday’s practice for the first time since the injury. How will these stars perform as the Philadelphia Eagles eye a deep playoff run?

Sunday will be the second time the Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers will play this year. These teams faced off in Week 1 for the NFL’s first-ever game in Brazil. Philadelphia won 34-29 as their offense had one of their best games of the season. Hurts had 278 passing yards and 2 passing touchdowns. Brown also torched the Packers defense for a season-high 119 yards and a receiving touchdown.
Week 1 was when Running Back Saquon Barkley began one of the best seasons for a running back in league history with 109 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown. It was not all great as Philadelphia’s defense must play better than they did in their last game against the Packers.
Packers Quarterback Jordan Love suffered an MCL injury on the game’s final drive which sidelined him for two games. The Packers were driving the ball down the field when Love got injured. Green Bay put up 400 yards of offense in the loss and will look to rebound from a tough final few weeks on offense.
Final Thoughts
The Philadelphia Eagles will be as healthy as they have been in nearly a month heading into Sunday’s marquee matchup. Philadelphia has no excuse to lose the game as they are at home and have two of their best players back in the fold. Eagles Head Coach Sirianni is not concerned about Hurts being rusty following a prolonged absence. Everything is seemingly lining up for the Philadelphia Eagles to advance. Now they have to go out on the field and take care of business.
