PCB urged to dismiss Azhar Mahmood as coach

The PCB chairman, Mohsin Naqvi, continues to give great insights. It was suggested by former Test cricketer and chief selector Salahuddin Sallu that he offer more knowledge to better propel the game of cricket forward. He recommended that the aforementioned figure completely change things right now. He suggests that innovations be made in the system for better performance and outcomes. The efforts made by the cricket body for the board and the team of Pakistan are not forgettable, and they cannot be ignored. The nation has ruled the cricket world for a time, and often, they have managed to have success because of the decisions made by the chairman.

With admiration, the selector actually, in an indirect way, criticized the performance that the team is suffering from right now because of the decisions that have to be made on time. He confronted the Express Tribune on Monday and expressed his views clearly. In a conversation with the news reporters on Monday, it was emphasized how crucial past actions have been in turning around the national team’s recent decline.

Sallu discusses serious decline

“I admire the efforts being made by PCB Chief Mohsin Naqvi to bring our cricket at par with the international standards. Those who have seen the Pakistan cricket team ruling world cricket in the past or have remained attached to Pakistan Cricket in any capacity are keen to see the revival of that era,” Sallu said.

He mentioned that there has been a serious decline in the performance of the team. The team went to the US and West Indies, and they tried to show their abilities but were in vain in front of the competing team as they were dominated by them mostly. So he mentioned the decline of the Pakistani team in the US and the West Indies. To complete that serious damage, the chairman has taken serious steps to improve.

Sallu clarified in his own words which stated, “After the recent debacle of the Pakistan team in the T20World Cup in the US and West Indies, such tough measures had become imperative and I am glad that the PCB chairman has taken them promptly.”

Sallu was very happy to see the current steps taken by the committee that will result in great performances in the future and it has to be taken because every team and management would do the same if they were in serious decline like this. In response, they would also take serious steps if they are truly the ones grinding for the team’s success

“Revamping the selection committee, dismantling the player-power, uplifting the infrastructure, and making the domestic cricket appearances mandatory for all players are all excellent steps taken by Mr Naqvi recently. They will, Inshallah, bear fruit very soon,” he added.

Sallu against Azhar being in PCB

The ex-cricketer stressed how essential Naqvi’s actions were after Pakistan’s poor showing in the recent T20 World Cup in the US and West Indies.

He also praised some major changes Naqvi implemented, such as overhauling the selection committee, limiting player influence, upgrading facilities, and requiring all players to take part in domestic cricket.

However, Sallu suggested that the current PCB chief should replace the national team’s assistant coach, Azhar Mahmood, with someone more capable.

“Azhar, in my opinion, does not deserve to be the team’s coach as he is not competent for the job and has failed to deliver whenever allowed to serve Pakistan Cricket,” he said in the previous interview.
