Patrick Beverley Sets New Career Playoff High In Game 5 Win

Milwaukee Bucks , Patrick Beverley

Patrick Beverley and the Milwaukee Bucks were determined to win Game 5. After the Indiana Pacers set a franchise playoff record of 22 3-pointers, a questionable technical foul called on Beverley, and a Bobby Portis ejection in Game 4, Milwaukee needed to settle the score.

That’s exactly what they did. The Milwaukee Bucks won the game 92-115, outscoring the Indiana Pacers every quarter after the first. Game 5 for the Bucks looked entirely different compared to their Game 4 loss in nearly every way possible.

Patrick Beverley Sets A New Career Playoff High

The veteran scored 13 points last night, twelve of which were in the first quarter. But, his new career high came in assists, as he recorded 12 against the Pacers defense. Patrick Beverley also recorded two steals, one block, four rebounds, and an astounding +36 on the plus-minus differential stat.

Beverley has always played with passion and fire. However, he also served as a fantastic playmaker. Not only did he play with his usual energy, but he did so while making fantastic game-winning plays for his team. It’s uncertain if he’ll always be able to play at this level offensively. But it’s known that this is something of a likelihood, especially as his star teammates work through injuries.

How Did Patrick Beverley Affect The Pacers’ Guards?

The Pacers’s guards couldn’t make the same amount of three-pointers they did in Game 4. Tyrese Haliburton and Andrew Nembhard shot a combined 5-15 from beyond the arc. Patrick Beverley lit a fire under the Bucks after scoring 12 points in the first quarter.

Bobby Portis was out for revenge after his squabble with Nembhard, which caused his ejection in Game 4. Portis scored 29 points and finished with 10 rebounds. Khris Middleton also finished with 29 points, 12 rebounds, and five assists.

Can Dame and Giannis Return For Game 6?

Damian Lillard was seen shooting around before the Game 5 showdown. It is possible he could return for Game 6. The same chances could be said for Giannis. However, some are speculating that this team overall plays better and more collectively, as seen in the win. It will be important to see what happens if/when everyone returns.

It was reported before the start of Game 4 on TNT that Giannis returned to weight-bearing cardio after doing non-weight-bearing cardio for a while. Doc Rivers stated that the all-star duo are very close to returning. For the Bucks’ sake, they hope the duo could come back in Game 6. But Patrick Beverley is admirably fighting through injury and this is a performance that will always be remembered.
