The Ohio State field hockey team is currently ranked No. 3 nationally. No. 1 North Carolina is the five-time defending national champion and has won eleven national championships in total. They are ranked first in the current field hockey poll put out by the NCAA.

Field hockey gets little to no attention, and hopefully, this article will help. The Lady Buckeyes are currently 9-1. Their only loss was to sixth-ranked Michigan. In this article, we will review the Ohio State field hockey roster and schedule. They have already played ten games in the 2024 season.

Ohio State Field Hockey Roster

Kelly Davis is a senior goaltender, Brenna Bough is a sophomore midfielder and forward, and Hanna Killeen is a senior and forward. Clearly, this is an experienced roster. The team is benefiting from their age. They are battle-tested and should do well this season, but they may struggle next year as people age out. Especially if the Big Ten conference is tough again.

Ohio State Field Hockey Schedule

The Ohio State field hockey team has a 9-1 record this season. They have beaten (in order) Albany, Bucknell, Colgate, Syracuse, Richmond, Old Dominion, Michigan State, Brown, and Louisville. They lost their last game at Michigan.

The Ohio State field hockey team will play Penn State, Kent State, Maryland, Rutgers, Indiana, and Iowa in October. They play No. 2 Northwestern on November 1 and face Central Michigan, which is their last game and is also Senior Night on November 3. After that, they will play in the Big Ten and NCAA tournaments.

Conclusion

Field hockey at Ohio State is very good this year, but the Big Ten Conference is strong. Ohio State is ranked third nationally, but fellow Big Ten Conference member Northwestern is second in the nation. The first-ranked team in the nation is North Carolina, the five-time defending national champion. North Carolina has won eleven National Championships. Ohio State Field Hockey faces an extreme challenge going against Northwestern next month.
