NXT No Mercy Main Event and Upcoming Changes

NXT
NXT No Mercy Sunday held some power-packed matches along with a few significant declarations regarding the future WWE lineup. This event was established with the help of the NXT Championship fight between Ethan Page and Joe Hendry which created anticipation for the next NXT show on the CW Network.
These changes occur as WWE plans to move most of its programming to other networks such as the USA Network and Netflix. Hence, it represents a new era for the company, it creates hopes to attract a larger audience and to improve the receiving experience of wrestling events.

Retention of Title and New Issues

A major revelation on the NXT yesterday was made by the current general manager Ava at the NXT No Mercy premium live event yesterday. She announced that whoever emerged as the champion between Ethan Page and Joe Hendry, would go on to defend the NXT Championship on October 1 when NXT made its debut on the CW Network.

This was one of the evening’s most anticipated matches, where Ethan Page successfully defended his NXT Championship. The victory was sealed by Page after delivering DDT on Joe Hendry and finishing him off with his traditional move called Ego’s Edge. This match ended with guest referee, Trick Williams putting Hendry’s shoulders to the mat and making a count of three.

After the exciting fight, the action did not end up inside the ring. Suddenly, ‘The Bruiser’ Pete Dunne came to the rescue to take out Trick Williams through the ring, and Dunne performed Bitter End to the Floor. Dunne’s actions ensured, he got into a staring contest with Ethan Page, who was still throwing his jabs around after a closely contested fight.

This is not the only change that has taken place in WWE’s programming lineup. Another of the three big shifts WWE is planning for the next few months is NXT’s transition to the CW Network on October 1. Also, it is worth providing information that SmackDown is set to move from Fox to USA Network on September 13, this will be its final time airing on Fox.

The last major shift relates to the WWE Raw program which will no longer air on cable television for the first time. It is stated that Raw is going to be available on Netflix from January 6, which is considering WWE’s continuous transition in the way it presents the products for its followers.

Final Perspectives

It wasn’t just a night of intense wrestling; NXT No Mercy on Sunday also marked significant changes in WWE’s programming. As Ethan Page gets ready for his NXT championship on CW Television Network, shows by WWE moving to different networks like USA Television Network and Netflix portray a cable new world. These modifications all belong to WWE’s plan to diversify and explore new media possibilities to keep their viewers interested in wrestling shows.
