New York Yankees Starting Pitching Luis Gil continued his great season in The Bronx on Thursday afternoon. Gil tossed 6.1 innings and surrendered a lone hit while striking out a season-high eight players in New York’s 5-0 victory.
Gil is no stranger to success on the mound as his last five starts have been nothing short of extraordinary. In his last five starts, he has surrendered only two earned runs. His stellar run started on May 1 and included starts against the Baltimore Orioles, Houston Astros, Tampa Bay Rays, Chicago White Sox, and this afternoon against the Seattle Mariners.
Gil is 6-1 this season with an ERA of 2.11. Will Gil be able to keep up his great pitching?

Gil made his debut with the New York Yankees in 2021. His spot in the rotation came to fruition once Starting Pitcher Gerrit Cole started experiencing elbow problems in Spring Training. Gil won the final spot in the rotation and has made the most of his golden opportunity.
New York Yankees Manager Aaron Boone commented before today’s game about how he will handle working Cole into the starting rotation once he is cleared to return:
