New York Yankees Giancarlo Stanton Finding Form

New York Yankees offense was great on Tuesday.

New York Yankees Designated Hitter Giancarlo Stanton is getting hot at exactly the right time. He hit a solo home run tonight at home against the Colorado Rockies as the slugger went yard for the second consecutive game. He also hit a three-run home run in yesterday’s 6-0 drubbing of the Cleveland Guardians.

Stanton has once again battled injuries this season and missed over a month with a hamstring injury. His power numbers have been down this month with only four round-trippers in August. Stanton is hitting .241 this season with 21 home runs and 55 RBI. Will Stanton carry this momentum into the remaining games of the regular season as the New York Yankees gear up for another World Series quest?

Giancarlo Stanton Career Summary

Stanton made his MLB debut in 201o with the then-Florida Marlins and has been one of the best power hitters of his generation. He was named the 2017 NL MVP, is a five-time MLB All-Star, and a two-time Silver Slugger Award winner. He spent the first eight seasons of his career in Florida before being dealt to the New York Yankees before the 2018 season. He is a career .258 hitter with 424 home runs and 1,087 RBI. He is the active leader in home runs in Major League Baseball.

New York Yankees Season Summary

It has been a great season for the Yankees(76-53). They lead the American League East and have the second-best record in Major League Baseball. The offense of the New York Yankees has been spectacular this season. They are 11th in batting average, second in home runs, second in runs scored, first in OBP, second in Slugging Percentage, and first in OPS. Their offense is paced by Center Fielder Aaron Judge who is putting together one of the best seasons in league history. He is leading the league in home runs, RBI, OBP, Slugging Percentage, and OPS, and second in batting average.

Right Fielder Juan Soto is having a career year as well but is being overshadowed by his teammate. He is 11th in batting average, fifth in RBI, second in OBP, fourth in Slugging Percentage, and second in OPS. New York’s pitching staff has also been great this season. They are seventh in ERA, fifth in strikeouts, and fourth in opposing batting average. Their pitching staff is led by Carlos Rodon. He is tied for the league lead in wins with 14. Closer Clay Holmes is also sixth in the league with 27 saves.

Yankees Upcoming Schedule

The New York Yankees play the middle game of their three-game set tomorrow afternoon against the Colorado Rockies. New York is assured of making the 2024 MLB Playoffs, but as is the case every year for the Yankees, anything less than a World Series victory is viewed as an abject failure. The New York Yankees are in the midst of one of the longest World Series droughts in franchise history as they have not won a championship since 2009.

New York has one of the league’s best rosters and is yearning to put an end to such a lengthy drought. New York already has one of the best offenses in Major League Baseball, and if Stanton can keep up this momentum, no team would want to face the New York Yankees in the MLB Postseason.
