The New York Knicks and Charlotte Hornets will commence their NBA 2K25 Summer League debut on July 13 at Thomas & Mack Center.
The New York Knicks commence their 2K25 Summer League game with Dices Yoshimoto as the head coach of the team. The Knicks fans are to see who Jalen Brunson can pass the torch to whenever he leaves the New York Knicks franchise. The Knicks’ 2024 25th overall draft pick, Pacome Dadiet, is the top headliner of this team. Also, we have Tyler Kolek and G League pro-Devin Cannady.
Charlotte Hornets on the other hand participated in the California Classic Summer League exhibit. The Hornets won that last match against the Sacramento Kings 1 (86-82) to go 3-for-0 in three games. After dominating teams in the California Classic Summer League, the Hornet will be adding a strong piece to their puzzle to remain dominant in this Summer League exhibit.

New York Knicks
The Knicks will have their rookie show the fans what he’s got up his sleeves. Dadiet played in the LNB Pro A, EuroCup, and Ratiopharm Ulm league. The 18-year-old forward averaged 6.6 points and 2.3 rebounds in 59 games playing for 15.3 minutes. The forward’s attempt on field goals was 50% and 35% on three-pointers. Also, the 2024 25th overall pick featured in the FIBA U16 and U17 teams. We should expect the rookie to display a promising performance against the Hornets.
New York Knicks’ second-round overall pick, Tyler Kolek is another prospect fans are interested in. Kolek averaged 11.5 points, 4.1 assists, 1.5 steals, and 6.2 rebounds in 121 games at college. The 23-year-old guard made 43.6% of his field goal attempts and 35.5 of his three-pointers.
Charlotte Hornets
The Hornet’s will feature their 2024 rookie, Tidjane Salaum. Salaum is the Hornet’s number six draft pick in 2024. He played 40 games and averaged 9.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.1 steals. The 18-year-old forward won MVP in the Trophy of the Future tournament. There he averaged 17.7 points and 7.3 rebounds. We expect to see a better shooting effort than 40.6% on the field and 31.6% on three points made.
Brandon Miller will be premiering in the NBA 2K25 Summer League. Miller didn’t play in the California Classic exhibit, however, he was the hidden piece the Hornets preserved for the Las Vegas summer games. Miller played for the Hornets last season to make his debut for the team. The 21-year-old forward averaged 17.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 2.4 assists with 44% on field goals and 37.3% beyond the arc in 74 games. Miller will be bringing his NBA experience to the table which could make the summer league matchup easy for him.
Possible Breakout Player of the Game
New York Knicks
Devin Cannady is a player to look out for in this debut exhibit with the Knicks. Cannady is a professional player in the G League. Throughout his five-season career at G League, the 28-year-old guard averaged 12.4 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 2.4 assists, making 42.1% of his field goal attempts and 38.2% beyond the arc.
Charlotte Hornets
Jake Stephen is a player who could maintain his dominant performance from his California Classic Summer League. The Hornets center averaged 13.3 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks throughout the California Classic exhibit. Also, Stephen made 56.5 of his field goal attempts and 50% of his three-pointers.
