The New York Jets are loading up on talent for a Super Bowl run. Aaron Rodgers does not have many years left, and the Jets have a perfect combination of young talent and veteran leadership. GM Joe Douglas has spent the offseason filling holes on the roster and bringing in as much talent as possible. Another talented piece has been added to the roster. The Jets have signed former All-Pro running back Tarik Cohen to a one-year deal.

Tarik Cohen has not played in the NFL since 2020 due to some major injuries. The New York Jets hope those are behind him. When he is on the field, he is one of the most electric backs in the league. His 2018 All-Pro season as a returner was his best. He led the league in punt return yardage and averaged 12.5 yards per punt return.

He was also a huge weapon for the Chicago Bears on offense. He had 71 receptions for 725 yards and five touchdowns. This was on top of 444 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns. These are impressive numbers for not being the featured back. The New York Jets hope Tarik Cohen can fill this role for the team. Breece Hall is the featured back but they are hoping Cohen can bring a change of pace.

The New York Jets have improved the roster this offseason. The offensive line especially is much improved. If the defense can continue to be elite, this team should be in the postseason conversation. The signing of Tarik Cohen continues a theme for many of the free agent signings. New York is counting on many oft-injured players to be healthy all year. If they all stay healthy, this team could be dangerous. If not, things could get interesting for this team.

The New York Jets are all in. They are trying to acquire as much talent as possible to see if something sticks. The hope is Cohen can make a comeback and be a weapon for the Jets’ offense in 2024.
