This afternoon, the New York Giants tight end, Darren Waller had announced his retirement on social media. The announcement is not much of a surprise to fans and the media due to alluding to it for months. Darren Waller has been alluding to his retirement with rap videos, and other issues.

The former New York Giants played 12 games with the Giants in 2023 and had one touchdown, with 552 receiving yards. This underachieving along with injuries could have played a role in the retirement.

This retirement won’t affect the Giants due to being injured in the season and other problems with Waller. Darren Waller had been battling injuries in the past two seasons, especially this season. This retirement could help Waller heal from the injuries and stress of the game, along with the questionable music career.

While the retirement of Waller could help him go for other career ventures, the Giants also got money from it. With the retirement of Waller, the Giants got 11.6 million with the cap savings. This cap space could help the Giants sign more depth players for the upcoming season and beyond. We will have more details underway in this breaking news story.
