New York Giants Working Out Multiple Quarterbacks In Preparation For 2025 NFL Draft

New York Giants

The New York Giants will reportedly hold private workouts with three top quarterback prospects with the NFL Draft a little over a week away. ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter reported that New York will have workouts with Colorado Quarterback Shedeur Sanders, Alabama Quarterback Jalen Milroe, and Louisville Quarterback Tyler Shough. New York holds the No. 3 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Will they draft a quarterback early in the first round or wait until later?

New York Giants Offseason Makes Recent News a Head-Scratcher

The New York Giants entered the offseason in dire need of a quarterback. For much of the offseason, they were expected to draft Sanders at No. 3 overall. That theory got turned on its head when the team signed veteran Quarterbacks Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston last month. With the recent moves, it seemed like New York would not draft a young quarterback this year. Or if they did, it would be in the later rounds. Sanders and Miloe are both expected to be first-round picks.

Schefter’s reporting is to be believed, but it showcases a team lacking direction. The Giants have conflicting views on how to get back on a winning track. Drafting a rookie quarterback to pair with Wilson and Winston would lead to an overly crowded QB room. Winston and Wilson are on the last legs of their NFL career and may not be keen on mentoring a young quarterback.

Final Thoughts

While the New York Giants are doing their due diligence, it is a misguided thought process. It would not make sense to sign two veteran quarterbacks and draft a rookie in the early rounds. They made their decision at the position earlier this offseason and must not change course this late in the process.
