New York Giants Week 5 Preview: Another Potential Loss

Daniel Jones

Week 5 is here for the NFL and the New York Giants matchup against the Seahawks could be difficult. The Seahawks have been a solid team this season and could have fun against the Giants. New York’s defense is battered with injuries and could have a difficult game with the run game.

Seattle’s defense has also been solid this season and could have a good one against the Giants’ offense. New York’s offense has been weak this season and could struggle on Sunday. With losing their last two meetings Seattle could have another win at Lumen Field. This New York Giants Week 5 preview could see another ugly game against the Seattle Seahawks.

New York Giants: Defensive Struggles

In this Week 5 game, the Giants’ defense could have a rough time covering D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett. Lockett and Metcalf had great numbers against the Giants in their past meetings and could have another solid game. With the defensive secondary pieces for the Giants hurt, covering the Seahawks receivers could be difficult.

Another concern for the Giants is their run defense being weak this season. Even with Dexter Lawerence at nose tackle, the Giants run defense allowed 80 yards last Thursday. While the Giants’ front seven is solid, Seattle has a star in Kenneth Walker being a beast in the running game.

Along with Walker, Zach Charbonnet is becoming a quality running back. New York’s defense could have a long day at Seattle against an emerging two-headed monster in Walker and Charbonnet.

New York Giants: Past Struggles

This New York Giants team’s offense against Seattle could be in for a long day on Sunday. In Seattle’s last game facing the Giants, their defense had a pick-six against Daniel Jones at MetLife. The defense for Seattle under Mike McDonald has been a solid unit and could have a multi-turnover game.

New York’s pass offense has been putrid this season and could have another weak game. Jones has been struggling this season with the deep pass and could have another weak game. With the Seahawks’ defense being a top unit, Jones could struggle with throwing the ball along with injuries of their wide receivers.

The Giants also have a weak run offense, with Devin Singletary underachieving this season. Singletary has been struggling with the Giants with fumbles and having low yards per gain in his games. There is the fact that Singletary had a groin injury, during practice, and could miss this week’s game.

Final Thoughts on the New York Giants

Giants vs. Seahawks could be a massacre for the Giants in Seattle. New York’s defense has been weak due to injuries and underachieving players. Last week’s injuries for the Giants secondary harmed the game plan last week and could hurt them on Sunday. The Giants’ run defense has been weak with other defensive tackles and linebackers underwhelming fans.

There is also the New York Giants offense being a weak part of the team this season. New York’s pass offense has been weak and could have another poor game against Seattle’s defense. With Seattle having won their last two meetings with the Giants, the defense could have a field day at Lumen Field. Giants fans could see them have another loss in a nightmare season for fans and players alike.
