New York Giants Week 4 Preview: Dallas Cowboys

New York Giants Daniel Jones

With week four in a couple of days, this New York Giants Week 4 preview on Thursday night could be ugly. While the Giants and Cowboys have the same record, the boys have beaten the Giants in their last four meetings.

Dallas could have a comeback after an embarrassing loss against the Ravens on Sunday. New York while having a win against the Browns could face a strong offensive line. There is also the secondary being weak against the Cowboys receivers doing this Thursday night game.

The New York Giants also have a weak offensive game plan against the Cowboys and could have a weak game. Miach Parsons is still a monster and could have a field day against the Giants’ offensive line.  The New York Giants Week 4 preview for Thursday night could be a reality check for the team after a week three win.

New York Giants Week 4 Preview: Defensive Worries

New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers (1) runs for yards after a catch during the first half of an NFL football game at Huntington Bank Field, Sunday, Sept. 22, 2024, in Cleveland, Ohio.

This New York Giants Week 4 preview will go over the defense of the Giants after a win against the Browns last Sunday. During the win against the Browns, the Giants defense pressured Deshaun Watson with 17 quarterback hits and eight sacks. The Giants’ defense did a solid job against the Browns’ offensive line at Cleveland.

There were also two forced fumbles, against the Browns’ offense for the Giants. The two fumbles were game-changers for the Giants in the win. New York’s defense must do well against the Cowboys’ offensive line which is shaky but solid. There is also the Giants needing to stop the run game which could be difficult with Davin Cook and Zeke Elliot on the mound.

While those tactics are possible with a weak run game for Dallas, they still have a solid receiving core of CeeDee Lamb and Brandin Cooks. Lamb could have a great night at Jersey against the Giants’ secondary. Dak has been great against the Giants in his last three games against them and could do well again.

New York Giants Week 4 Preview: Offensive Questions

The defense is a concern for Thursday night, but this New York Giants Week 4 preview is also looking at the offense. Dallas’s defense while weak, could have a solid night against the Giants. Micah Parson is still a great defender and could have a solid night against the Giants’ offensive line.

Dallas’ defensive front could go well against the Giants’ offensive line with Parsons, and Demarcus Lawerence having solid numbers against the Giants. There is also Daniel Jones not being good against the Cowboys and could have an interception. In his career stats against the Cowboys, Jones only beaten them once in his career. The Giants run game could do well, but the Cowboys’ front seven along with their solid secondary could do well on Thursday. Dallas’s high-end talent with their linebacker core, could stop the Giants from doing much in this New York Giants week four preview.

Final Thoughts

This New York Giants Week 4 preview against the Dallas Cowboys could have them losing in the Meadowlands with a multi-score loss. The Giants’ defense while they did well against the Browns was facing a weak offensive line and a washed quarterback. On Thursday night, they will face an elite quarterback with a healthy offensive line and could do poorly. Even if the Giants pressured Prescott, he could throw it to his elite receivers, and a decent running game.

There is also the Giants’ weak offense, and how they could game plan around the Cowboys’ defense. While the Cowboys’ defense looks weak, they still have elite talent with Parson and Trevon Diggs on the Giants. With the Dallas defense still strong, the Giants’ offense could have a long Thursday night

This New York Giants Week 4 preview shows that the team still has flaws against their division rivals before Thursday night. While there is a chance that the Giants could win on Thursday, it looks like they might start the season 1-3 with little hope for 2024 and beyond this season.
