Undoubtedly, New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones is under pressure in 2024. After getting a long-term contract worth $160 million last offseason, the former sixth overall pick had a disappointing 2023 season.
Jones played in just six games, threw just two touchdowns to six interceptions, and had his season cut short due to a neck and ultimately season-ending torn ACL. So a lot is riding on the Giants signal-caller for the upcoming season.
While he has a fair amount of pressure this season, there is still a lot riding on other players on this Giants roster. From both sides of the ball, there can for sure be a lot of pressure on certain players who are looking to right the ship on a New York Giants team that won just six games last year. But what other three players should also be under pressure as Big Blue prepares to gear up for training camp soon?
New York Giants Tackle Evan Neal Is Under pressure

This should be a no-brainer that tackle Evan Neal is under immense pressure this season. The New York Giants drafted Neal in the first round back in 2022 with hopes that he could fix a broken Giants offensive line. But some would say he’s only added to the problem and not fixed it.
From getting booed in front of his home crowd and mounting injuries that have sidelined him, there could be a lot riding on Neal this season which is he’s under pressure for the Giants this year.
He played in just seven games last season due to an ankle injury that bothered him all year and was blasted for calling out Giants fans who booed in during an embarrassing primetime performance against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 4 of last year. The Giants need Neal to play much better after New York led the NFL in sacks allowed with 85. This could be it for Neal if he doesn’t play better.
The Inconsistency of WR Wan’Dale Robinson
What can the New York Giants get out of third-year wide receiver Wan’Dale Robinson who they drafted in the second round of the draft back in 2022? The 23-year-old has shown how great of a playmaker and how speedy he can be, but injuries and inconsistencies have been a problem which is why he may be on the hot seat this season.
Robinson has played in just 21 games in his first two NFL seasons as a torn ACL in his rookie year ended his season short and his lack of targets as well has limited his opportunities to show off his true potential. Robinson has shown glimpses of being a potential game-changer weapon from his career-best 115 total-yard showing against the Green Bay Packers in Week 14 of last season.
He now just needs to replicate that kind of performance for hopefully a full regular season. Already in his third year, Robinson is facing pressure to break through for the New York Giants.
Edge Azeez Ojulari Has Fallen Flat
This is a player the New York Giants were so high on when they used their second-round draft pick on him in 2021. After a promising rookie season, edge rusher Azeez Ojulari has failed to live up to the hype he was given and is facing enormous pressure this season.
After finishing the 2021 season with eight sacks which set an all-time Giants record for sacks by a rookie, he’s not been the same player. He’s played in a combined 18 games since that promising rookie season as two stints on the injured reserved list have limited his playing time. Since that eight-sack campaign in 2021, the 24-year-old has had just a combined eight sacks in the last two seasons.
With the addition of pass rusher Brian Burns from the Carolina Panthers, Ojulari’s time in New York may be running out. That could all potentially change if he has a strong showing in training camp, but with all that said, the New York Giants edge rusher is still under pressure this season to show he can still be elite on the Giants’ defense.
