New York Giants Notable Inactive Players In Week 3

New York Giants notable

With week three of the NFL here, here are the New York Giants’ notable inactive players that are inactive on Sunday. During Wednesday’s training camp, the notable injuries for the Giants are mostly on the defensive side of the ball.

Some of the players had limited practice but they could be out for the game against the Browns. The players that are hurt could affect the Giants’ defensive play calling with the edge rush and secondary. There is also the drama of one of the players not playing but is also not hurt. The New York Giants’ notable players who are inactive could impact the team for worse against the Browns on Sunday.

New York Giants Notable Inactive: Kayvon Thibodeaux

One of the New York Giants notable players who is hurt and had limited practice is Kayvon Thibodeaux. Thibodeaux was said to have suffered a shoulder injury and had limited practice. While there is still a chance for him to play, he could get some rest after performing poorly in the first two weeks.

While Thibodeaux has shown he could be a solid edge rusher for the Giants, having a shoulder injury could hamper that potential. Along with the injury is the underachieving by Thiodeaux in 2024 which could still be a huge loss.

New York Giants Notable Inactive: Brian Burns And Isaiah Simmons

Another surprising New York Giants player who is hurt is Brian Burns who is now on the injury list for the team with groin issues. Burns for the Giants while not having an impact on the stats, is still a threat for the Giants’ edge rushing core. With the lack of Burns and Thiodeaux, the Giants’ defense could suffer in week three.

While the injury is questionable for Burns, he could be downgraded to an out if he could not go through limited practice. There is a chance he could play, but the chances of re-aggravating the injury would not make the risk worth it. Another New York Giants notable inactive player for the team is Isaiah Simmons with a non-related injury. While the details are still murky, Simmons not playing in week two could have him on the cut list soon. The Giants linebacker could be on the dog house from the coaching staff and could be inactive again.

While Simmons has flaws, he is still a solid linebacker for the team, and could have a great game against the Browns offense. When active, Simmons could have an interception against offenses and could do well in stopping the run game.

Final Thoughts

Sunday’s injury report on the New York Giants’ notable players could harm the team’s defense for worse against the Browns. Potentially losing one of the better edge rushers in Thibodeaux could harm the Giants if he is not healthy for Sunday’s game. The Browns would be down several offensive linemen and losing edge rushers could make it easier for Watson.

Along with Thibodeaux, having Burns on the injury report will make things worse, with losing two of the team’s top rushers. While Burns’s impact in the season is minimal, he is still a great edge rusher for the team. There is also drama between Simmons and the Giants coaching staff of him not having playing time for the defense. While that drama could unfold horrifically, losing a solid linebacker could damage the Giants’ defense and locker room morale.

With week three of the NFL season, the Giants must make a stand against a weak Browns team or it could be another loss in a potentially awful 100th season.
