Napoli Advances on David Neres Signing

napoli

David Neres has been heavily linked with Napoli in recent weeks. It’s been suggested that the talks are now becoming more concrete, and David Neres is on his way to Serie A. Napoli were keen on signing Neres a long time ago, and now it seems like they’re the leaders in the race to sign the Brazilian.

Neres’s agent will soon be in Italy to finalize the deal, according to reports. The meeting could even be held this morning or later in the evening. Thehere we go’  signal is expected to arrive very soon. A green flag from Portugal’s Benfica awaits for Neres to move.

In other news, Napoli is looking to offload Victor Osimhen, and an agreement is expected to be reached with Chelsea soon. Napoli has to sign key players if they want to contend in the Italian league.

How David Neres’s Addition Will Help

The Brazilian international can bring a lot of quality to the Napoli team. He’s put on great performances with his previous teams in Europe like Ajax and Benfica. He remains somewhat underrated in the side due to him playing a bit defensively.

David Neres is also being linked with Liverpool and PSV, but he’s clearly shown his intentions to play for the Neapolitans. He played 35 games across all competitions last season for Benfica, scoring five goals and assisting on ten.

Napoli plays a counter-attacking style of game. They need players who have enough pace and can play up and down the field. Neres fits these criteria perfectly due to his speed and contribution, both defensively and in attack. The Italian side is well-stocked on the wings. However, when you dig a little deeper, this move begins to make a world of sense. Napoli’s head coach Antonio Conte knows Neres very well from his time in the Eredivisie with Ajax, while FSG’s Julian Ward will also have great knowledge of Neres due to his Portuguese connections.

Neres’s Transfer Fee and Other Obligations

Benfica are demanding a fee of 25 million Euros, plus future add-ons, for the Brazilian star. The valuation is based on his form and performances in recent times. Napoli are currently financially stable and spending 25 million Euros won’t be a big burden for them.  The transfer window remains open for the next three weeks which gives them sufficient time to arrive at a decision.

Napoli recently signed a contract with Alessandro Buongiorno, a center-back from another Serie A side, Torino. That transfer cost them 35 million euros, which is considered to be quite expensive. But overall, after calculating all the arrivals and departures from the club, Napoli is earning 9 million Euros in profit on recent player sales.

David Neres’s decision will be out soon, and the Neapolitans are very excited to see him play in their famous blue and white colors. Once all formalities are completed, the official announcement is expected to be made. Napoli needs Neres.
