David Neres is also being linked with Liverpool and PSV, but he’s clearly shown his intentions to play for the Neapolitans. He played 35 games across all competitions last season for Benfica, scoring five goals and assisting on ten.

Neres fits these criteria perfectly due to his speed and contribution, both defensively and in attack. The Italian side is well-stocked on the wings. Benfica are demanding a fee of 25 million Euros, plus future add-ons, for the Brazilian star. The valuation is based on his form and performances in recent times. Napoli are currently financially stable and spending 25 million Euros won’t be a big burden for them. The transfer window remains open for the next three weeks which gives them sufficient time to arrive at a decision.
Napoli recently signed a contract with Alessandro Buongiorno, a center-back from another Serie A side, Torino. That transfer cost them 35 million euros, which is considered to be quite expensive. But overall, after calculating all the arrivals and departures from the club, Napoli is earning 9 million Euros in profit on recent player sales.
David Neres’s decision will be out soon, and the Neapolitans are very excited to see him play in their famous blue and white colors. Once all formalities are completed, the official announcement is expected to be made. Napoli needs Neres.
