Japan may be on the brink of witnessing the biggest fight ever to hit the boxing ring in Japan. Some rumors that four-division champion Naoya Inoue ‘Monster’, one of the best pound-for-pound boxers, will meet Junto Nakatani, another three-division winner. If all this goes as planned, this fight may happen next year. Although Inoue has exhibited incredible power and skill in previous bouts, many people expect this fight to be competitive, making it one of the most exciting fights in the sport.

Nakatani Junto’s Path to Naoya Inoue

Naoya Inoue has been quite open about his need to beat Nakatani Junto‘s elder brother, Takuma Inoue before he discusses unification with his opponent. The Japanese fighter Takuma will be Nakatani’s next opponent, and he currently holds the WBA bantamweight title.

According to Michael Benson, Nakatani, who has not yet been defeated in his career with a record of 28-0 (21 KOs), will fight Takuma Inoue in a WBA and WBC bantamweight title unification fight. Nakatani intends to win a fight against Takuma and then climb up to compete against Naoya Inoue for the coveted main WBA, WBC, IBF, and WBO super bantamweight world title bouts scheduled for next year, 2025.

The Path Forward: Key Upcoming Fights

But before Nakatani can battle with Naoya Inoue, he must pass a significant test on October 14. He is set to fight within the under new campaigner Tasana Salapat, who is known to have a record of 76 wins and one loss. On the other hand, Takuma Inoue will be defending his WBA bantamweight title on October 13 against Seiya Tsutsumi (11-0-2) in Japan festivities. These fights are crucial for both brothers to win, and the fight with Nakatani is still on.

In another match, fans are still waiting for Naoya Inoue to fight Sam Goodman in December. He will go into that fight as the favorite, and assuming both men remain unbeaten and come through their respective battles unscathed, then 2025 could see the two face off.

If this super-fight were to occur, then it would be one of the largest that could be staged. Inoue and Nakatani are fantastic fighters who are well-rounded, possess enormous power punches, and are excellent tacticians. The audience wants to witness the battle between the best Japanese fighters, who claim to be the king of their respective divisions. The said fight is bound to attract a mammoth audience, possibly packing a large stadium in Japan, and the fight will go down as the highlight of Orton and Nakamura’s careers.

Inoue vs. Nakatani: The Fight Everyone Wants

Naoya Inoue has been wowing the fans for quite some time now, and thanks to that, he has been dubbed the ‘perfect fighter.’ Now highly rated contender and future star Nakatani Junto has displayed the absence of such issues as he progresses through the sport. Inoue has never fought anyone with a skill set like Nakatani, and similarly, Nakatani will face an opponent who is equally ‘super-special’ as Inoue.

This fight is all set up to be one of the biggest boxing events of 2025, not just for fans in Japan but for the whole boxing community. Now, we await seeing this dream fight fully developed and come into existence.
