MVP’s WWE career has taken a new twist, and he is going to leave the WWE. Montel Vontavious Porter (MVP) recently spoke to the public with important information about his professional life in one of the episodes of Bloodsport XI on Sunday.
Porter, who recently disclosed that his WWE contract is expiring within the next year, was aching to inform the public that he had just earned his black belt in jiu-jitsu. Because his WWE contract will soon expire, he expressed that he does not want to renew for another year with the WWE. Specifically, he still has unwritten chapters left in his life and desires to accomplish some personal things before leaving the world of professional wrestling.
The wrestler made a challenge to Josh Barnett in a more frank manner, wanting to do more battles with the wrestler in the squared circle. When he expressed his readiness to accept it, Barnett could not be happier because, no matter whether the person arrives as a single competitor or in a pack, MVP has been welcomed.
Some Possible Changes In Wrestling

Porter has been in the WWE since 2006. He left the league in 2010 to join New Japan Pro-Wrestling and competed there for two years. In 2020, MVP returned to the WWE.
It has been said that Porter and Bobby Lashley will be departing the WWE once their contracts are up. The beliefs are that it is within the possibility that neither Edwards nor Balor wish to leave the WWE entirely, but it is presumed that they may seek out aggravating the Hurt Business stable, which could include Shelton Benjamin, within the AAEL organization.
This has caused a lot of commotion in the wrestling fraternity based on the prospects of a possible reformation of the faction to the ring.
At the end of the week, he decided to provide the fans with his WWE experience, sharing the memories of his time in the WWE. This has particularly raised controversies after the fans and analysts have started debating the next move he makes or the effects that his exit has on WWE production.
WWE’s Response To MVP and Future Prospects
Similarly, during his recent visit to London to respond to the questions regarding MVP and Lashley, Paul Levesque, WWE’s chief content officer, also spoke. Levesque, who was in town meeting with London council members considering the possibilities of hosting WrestleMania, failed to give detailed information on the conditions of MVP and Lashley.
As he continued, he explained that talent contracts and releases are normal in the wrestling industry and do not necessarily indicate the permanency of a wrestler’s status. The fact is that MVP has not made many appearances on WWE television in 2024. The most recent sighting was when he escorted Omos to the ring for the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal during WrestleMania 39 SmackDown night one.
With MVP entering this new phase, the wrestling world will be waiting to see how he and other wrestling entities will be affected, especially by his exit from the WWE. They do not forget about his other projects or even have a new chapter for the Hurt Business to be expected when his plans appear clearer. It is a big change for him to switch up the format and no doubt it will impact his future and life.
