AEW Star’s Contract Expires Before ‘All In’

AEW

It appears that Bryan Danielson, one of AEW’s top talents, is probably leaving the company. Danielson is in the final year of his current contract. One of the members of the Blackpool Combat Club, Danielson’s contract runs out ahead of the promotion’s “All In” pay-per-view event.

Danielson recently sat down with AEW personality Renee Paquette for an interview. He jokingly said that his contract expires on the same day his son turns 4 years old.

But Danielson is not concerned about his contract situation. He’s focused on his match at “All In.” Danielson gets a shot at the AEW world championship against Swerve Strickland. A lot is on the line, not only for Danielson’s career with AEW but what the future holds.

Bryan Danielson said, “The free contract still expires on August 1. My wrestling contract is up next Thursday, my son’s fourth birthday. (AEW President and Owner) Tony (Khan) also mentioned that he has no sort of issue with talking about it. I did not plan to make a big deal out of this, unlike some people who would like to do it where they are holding their contract situations for more money.”

Danielson will face Strickland for the AEW World Championship in “All In” at Wembley Stadium in London on August 25. He earned his title shot by winning the 2024 Owen Hart Foundation tournament.

A lot of talk has surrounded Kenny Omega and his recent contract issues. Danielson is keeping his focus on climbing the ladder of AEW. “I have to look forward to Wembley even though it’s later in the season,” he said. “That needs to be my main area of attention. So, yeah, it’s a wild time. It’s a wild time.”

Is He Leaving Full-Time Work?

Danielson has stated that this is his last year in wrestling as a full-contact athlete. But he hasn’t said when his final match will take place. It seems that he is starting a new phase in his professional life.

He also spends time as part of the AEW production team. Khan has said that he wants Danielson to remain a fixture within the company for the next several years.

During a recent interview, Khan expressed his interest in working with Danielson in AEW. “I hope Bryan stays with us for the rest of his life, and I know he has an idea of where he wants to see the business go,” Khan said. “f it were up to me, I would want Bryan to remain employed with us for as long of a time as is physically possible.”
