Monday Night Raw Preview: WWE Builds Bad Blood | 09/23/2024

Monday Night Raw Preview - WWE Bad Blood

WWE Monday Night Raw will continue their current theme of Bad Blood tonight from Ontario, CA. The feeling of bad blood is not only in the build for the upcoming PLE but also in the sense of all of the current feuds carrying that dark, evil Halloween feel. Raw in past weeks have seen monsters battle and hatred that cuts deep in some rivalries. We should see the repercussions of recent episodes of Raw continue tonight. Monday Night Raw will also feature a humungous match for the Intercontinental Championship.

Intercontinental Level Up

The WWE Intercontinental Championship has become more prestigious since Gunther reigned with the title. To hold and to challenge for the title has become more of an upper-card level requirement as opposed to mid-carders vying for the belt. One could argue that the IC title is nearing the level of the World Heavyweight Championship in terms of difficulty to attain. Tonight, we will see two highly athletic superstars Bron Breakker and Jey Uso battle for the title and give us a potential A+ match. The high level of these superstars can write a chapter in the history of this championship.

No match has been officially announced between Braun Strowman and Bronson Reed this week, and they may have been suspended after last week’s total annihilation of the ring, set, and backstage area. These two behemoths are about as evenly matched as possible and every time that they go at it, it seems that WWE finds ways to turn the destruction up a notch. It remains to be seen if this rivalry will be addressed tonight or if the men will be given the night off to sell the injuries from last week. Either way, the fans want more: more destruction.

WWE’s Scottish Psychopath Responds

Drew McIntyre will respond to CM Punk’s Bad Blood evil promo from last week. Punk said that he was the Devil and that he would give his life to defeat McIntyre in their upcoming Hell in a Cell match at Bad Blood. After all, Hell in a Cell is the perfect home for the Devil, right? Can Punk live up to those words at the pay-per-view? He is both smaller and physically weaker than McIntyre.

How will the Scottish Psychopath respond to such a deep, emotional promo from Punk tonight? Each of these men has upped the ante at every stage of this feud. What will Drew McIntyre say or do tonight to keep this dynamic build for WWE’s biggest current rivalry? Will CM Punk be in the building for Drew’s return?

Additional Highlights

Sami Zayn vs Ludwig Kaiser: Zayn is currently laser-focused on defeating Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship. Last week, Ludwig Kaiser jumped Sami and is now in Sami’s way. Tonight they will battle, and if Kaiser wins then Gunther will continue to deny Zayn a title shot.

The Terror Twins and Judgment Day: The saga between Judgment Day and Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley has been fantastic. All of these superstars know each other well and complement each other in move sets and intensity. Liv Morgan, although through cheating, has proven herself to be a viable opponent for Ripley. Priest and Finn Balor at Bad Blood will finally show the world who is better. Tonight let’s hope that we get more from all of the above.

Pete Dunne and Sheamus: The Pete Dunne and Sheamus rivalry, even though a few chapters old, feels like it is just getting started in a lot of ways. Dunne performed well in the Intercontinental contender’s tournament and is one of the most painful opponents anyone could face in the WWE. Dunne has gained the exposure that perhaps his character was lacking, and is a real threat to Sheamus and the main roster of superstars. Now that weapons came into play last week, will this feud work toward a streetfight for Bad Blood?

Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair: What is next for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions? Belair, having lost to Iyo Sky last week gives Damage CTRL a case for becoming potentially the next challengers for the tag belts. Will we perhaps see Cargill this time in a singles match? The build has been slow and the excitement around these titles has lacked. Maybe a rift between Cargill and Belair can give the story some spark?

Predictions

Sami Zayn vs Ludwig Kaiser: Zayn will get the win unless there is a straight-up disqualification due to Gunther’s involvement. We will see Zayn make his case that he is the best contender for the World Heavyweight Championship and really the only one to defeat Gunther since the Ring General came up to the main roster. A loss for Kaiser here would start to kill all of the previous momentum that he had.

Jey Uso vs Bron Breakker: This Intercontinental Championship match should be fire tonight. Both of these men can go at a high level and both are among the fastest superstars in the ring. Breakker is the obvious favorite in this one, but there is sort of a feeling that something else will happen in this match to disrupt a clean finish. Uso’s recent antics with Judgment Day will potentially play a factor. It is too early for Uso to just lose to Breakker outright in his pursuit of this title. Extracurriculars will be the recipe for the finish of this match.
