Monday Night Raw Preview: WWE Out Four Blood | 09/09/2024

WWE Monday Night Raw Preview - Road to Bad Blood

The Monday Night Raw train is rolling, this time making a stop in Calgary, Alberta from the Scotiabank Saddledome. The focus of tonight’s event will be on the number four, in differing aspects. A fatal four-way to determine the number one contender for the Intercontinental Championship is planned, as well as an eight-man tag match that will pit four world-class athletes against four members of WWE’s spookiest faction.

Having endured in WWE’s mini-tournament to determine the number one contender for the Bron Breakker’s championship, Jey Uso, Pete Dunne, Ilja Dragunov, and Braun Strowman will compete in a fatal four-way tonight. Uso is the only superstar who has had backstage vignettes with Breakker, and he seems to be the odds-on favorite.  WWE however, in building toward Bad Blood, could surprise us with any of the other three competitors getting the win. Dragunov has an intense history with Breakker, while Dunne has been on a roll as of late in his work. Could it be Strowman who may present the greatest challenge for Breakker? Tonight will be one more step to determining the next challenger.

Four Lives or Four Deaths?

Chad Gable, Ivy Nile, and the Creed brothers issued a challenge to Uncle Howdy last week and tonight we will see four versus four, in what will likely not at all resemble a traditional 8-person tag team match. This one is slated as a streetfight, which is how Wyatt Sicks matches normally pan out anyway. The encounter feels like it could be the completion of the American Made vs Wyatt Sicks storyline. If so, it will still be entertaining, even if it is certain that Gable and the Creeds fall.

Four of the Best…for Tag Team Gold

Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill are set to face The Unholy Union, Alba Fyre, and Isla Dawn, for the WWE Women’s  Tag Team Championship tonight, and all four women are arguably the best in the division right now. Fyre and Dawn beat Damage CTRL last week, with a little involvement from Belair and Cargill.  The Unholy Union have been workhorses in the division for the past several months, but Cargill and Belair will be too dominant tonight. Will we see an appearance from Damage CTRL?

Additional Highlights

Bret Hart is Back!  The Excellence of Execution will make a triumphant return to Raw tonight in his hometown of Calgary. What will The Hitman have to say? What storyline will his presence interact with? It wouldn’t be surprising if he opened the show and made the crowd rowdy.

Gunther vs Sami Zayn build: In the challenger that makes the most sense to Gunther, Zayn brings a fresh feeling to the World Heavyweight Championship picture. Gunther rejected Sami last week, so will we see Zayn turn up the heat tonight against Gunther? Zayn is the only one to have pinned Gunther, so this program looks like it could be developing going into Bad Blood.

Terror Twins vs Judgment Day: Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley will continue their campaign of terror against Finn Balor, Dom Mysterio, Liv Morgan, and the rest of Judgment Day. Ripley is the number one contender for Morgan’s title, and mixing this element within the feud provides an extra incentive for Ripley. Expect the saga to give us another entertaining chapter tonight.

Predictions

Fatal 4-Way for IC #1 Contender: WWE needs to decide who the very best to face Bron Breakker will be. Jey Uso seems to fit the bill, but with Strowman’s resurgence as of late, it could be the monster of all monsters who gets the nod. Neither of these contenders will win, however, as our prediction has Ilja Dragunov going over in this bout. Triple H knows that Dragunov vs Breakker will be a main event-level contest for Bad Blood.

Wyatt Sicks vs American Made: We will see the farewell to this feud tonight and perhaps the certain destruction of American Made. How this happens has yet to be determined, but we predict that a new player will appear for the Wyatts that we have not seen in some time.

Lyra Valkyria, Zelina Vega, and a Mystery Partner vs The Pure Fusion Collective: Zelina Vega got beat handily last week by Shayna Baszler. With Sonya Deville and Zoey Stark joining Baszler to stand tall over Vega, it was clear that Vega needed some help. She will get that help tonight from Valkyria and a mystery partner. Who will this be…someone substantial in the division? Look for Vega and company to get the win to keep this feud going and perhaps the new partner will get the pinfall.

Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair vs The Unholy Union: WWE has not teased any dissension between Cargill and Belair. We will likely not see anything teased tonight, as the new champs need the belts for some time to begin a story about breaking up. Damage CTRL will probably make an appearance and try to cost Belair and Cargill the victory. The champions will retain, but it could get messy.
