The Milwaukee Bucks and Cleveland Cavaliers will face each other after losing their debut games. This Summer League match-up will happen at Cox Pavilion on July 14.
The Milwaukee Bucks led with a one-point margin in the first quarter (27-26). However, it was evident that the Bucks couldn’t pull through to the end. The team lost with a seven-point margin to the Chicago Bulls, who had a dominant third quarter. Despite this loss, their rookie had a decent game. Therefore we should be in for a treat in their next game.
The Cleveland Cavaliers lost massively in their debut summer league game against the Orlando Magic with a 27-point margin (79-106). Also, their rookies and other youngsters had an average performance as the Magic team dominated in the three first games. However, this is just the Cavaliers’ first game, thus, their next game could be more intense.
As both teams would like to shake things up in this second, who could come out on top?

Summer League Team Preview
Milwaukee Bucks

AJ Johnson was in the starting five lineup for the Bucks. Also, he was arguably the third-best in terms of performance. The 19-year-old guard made 33.3% of his field goal attempts and 22.2% of his three-pointers. At the end of the match against the Bulls, the 19-year-old guard got 13 points, three assists and four rebounds. There’s still room for improvement from this first-round overall pick.
Tyler Smith should be the second-best performer as he came off the bench to drop 12 points, making 50% of his field goal attempts and 33% of his three-pointers. Also, the 6’ 11 forward clinched five offensive rebounds in six rebounds and one block. MarJon Beauchamp was impressive as he led with 22 points, making 38.9% of his field goal attempts and 28% of his three-pointers. The 6’7 guard was active defensive as he clinched five rebounds, four steals, and a block while dishing five assists. If Beauchamp improves his three-pointers, he could help the Bucks dominate the Cavaliers.
Cleveland Cavaliers
The Cavaliers fans are hopeful that Jaylon Tyson would be a good piece to build around Donovan Mitchell. Jaylon could convert as he made 50% of his field goal attempts (7-of-14) to get 15 points, grabbed eight boards, and blocked one shot, making him the second-best in terms of performance. The Cavaliers forward could still explode against the Bucks in this second summer league matchup.
Emoni Bates outperformed his teammates in points while making 41% of his field goal attempts. The forward’s three-pointers didn’t make much difference though he had the highest attempts in his team. Bates got a 2-of-8 three-point attempt with three rebounds. The 20-year-old forward is on a two-way contract with the Cavaliers. Thus, if Bates improves through this summer league exhibit, he could get a standard NBA contract.
Possible Breakout Players of the Game
Milwaukee Bucks
Ryan Rollins is on a two-way contract with the Milwaukee Bucks. After the game, the 22-year-old guard had 11 points, four assists, four defensive rebounds, a block, and a steal. Throughout his G League career, he played 24 games to average 16.9 points, 3.5 boards, 2.6 assists, and 1.2 steals. Also, the guard’s shooting average at the G League was 47.6% in field goals and 38.3% in threes. He’d be a decent watch against the Cavaliers
Cleveland Cavaliers
DJ Burns who went undrafted in the 2024 NBA Draft event came off the bench to score four points, grab two rebounds, and a steal in 12 minutes. If he’s given more time on the court he should be a player to watch. Also, Craig Porter Jr. Who plays guard for the Cavaliers got 10 points, two assists, two steals, and a block. The undrafted free agent’s defense abilities could show more in this second summer matchup.
