The Milwaukee Brewers signed veteran Outfielder Mark Canha to a Minor League contract on Saturday night. Canha’s deal reportedly includes an invitation to Spring Training as well. He is no stranger to the Brewers organization. Canha was with the ballclub during the second half of the 2023 season.
He was dealt to the Milwaukee Brewers from the New York Mets before the 2023 MLB Trade Deadline. Canha had a mediocre 2024 campaign. He hit .242 with 7 home runs and 42 RBI with the Detroit Tigers and San Francisco Giants. Will Canha be an asset for the Milwaukee Brewers?

Milwaukee enters 2025 with lofty expectations. They are looking to make the MLB Playoffs for the third consecutive season and the seventh time in the last eight seasons. Canha joins a Milwaukee Brewers lineup with some talent. They will be led by Catcher William Contreras and Left Fielder Jackson Chourio.
The Milwaukee Brewers had a strong offense in 2024. They were eighth in batting average, 16th in home runs, and sixth in runs scored. Unfortunately, their offense sputtered in the National League Wild-Card Round against the New York Mets.
Final Thoughts
While Canha is not expected to be an everyday player at this point in his career, he could see time at all three outfield positions and as the Designated Hitter. Canha should provide the Brewers with a wealth of experience as they try to break through in the National League.
