Michigan Wolverines Sherrone Moore Is Already Flexing His Recruiting Muscles

The Michigan Wolverines are coming off a national championship season. However, the defending champs seem to be flying under the radar. Part of this is due to head coach Jim Harbaugh leaving for the NFL and also the loss of many top players. Former offensive coordinator Sherrone Moore took over, and many wondered what would happen, especially on the recruiting trail. In a few short months, Moore has shown he can recruit with the best of them.

The Michigan Wolverines have already landed 13 commitments for the 2025 cycle. Ten four-star recruits headline it. It isn’t just at one position. The recruits are on both sides and should continue the dominance the program has had in the past few years. Sherrone Moore was already doing a lot of the recruiting for the offensive line, and it seems to be continuing. Players want to continue to come and be a part of an elite line.

On the defensive side of the ball, recruits are taking notice of the program’s ability to coach up defensive linemen. Any time there is a coaching change, there often is a huge shift in recruits. That has not been the case with Sherrone Moore. Very few recruits flipped their commitments or entered the transfer portal. Players see the vision of this program and want to be a part of it.

More To Come?

Sherrone Moore may just be getting started. On Sunday, Moore posted some cryptic social media posts with the googly eyes and the hashtag #GoBlue. This often points to massive recruits committing to the program. “Coach in the kitchen again,” posted one fan in response to the messages. It has been rumored the Michigan Wolverines may flip some four and even five star commitments from powerhouse programs. Moore is definitely flexing his recruiting muscles. While Jim Harbaugh may have been a good recruiter, Moore may be even better.

Recruiting Rankings

Michigan has never fielded a number one class. In fact, 247 has them ranked 22nd overall. Five Big Ten teams are ahead of them. However, the Wolverines have proven they don’t need a top recruiting class in order to succeed. While getting top-tier talent is a good thing, it takes more than five-star recruits to win on the field. The program clearly has a plan and a certain type of player they want to go after. They have stuck to that plan, and it has yielded results in the past few years.

Sherrone Moore is just getting started. Hopefully, we will see the reason for the cryptic tweets this week. If he is able to add more talent to the 2025 class, it could have a snowball effect. If the Wolverines can continue to gather talent and coach them up, Michigan could be building a dynasty.
