Michael Owen has unveiled his Premier League teams that he feels will make it to the Top 4. The incoming 2024/25 league campaign has seen teams like Arsenal, Manchester United, and Chelsea looking to reinforce their side.
However, the former legend still seems to tip Manchester City ahead of them. Owen believes City might be on their way to a record-extending fifth consecutive title. Manchester City has now been the only side to become the first to win four EPL trophies in a row. In the process, they were able to overcome challenges from Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester United in those seasons.
Michael Owen however expects the Gunners and Liverpool to continue from last season as City’s strongest rivals. With Liverpool’s new coach and Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta hoping to stop Pep Guardiola’s dominance in the league, the next season is looking all the more exciting.

Arsenal, who had ended last season two points behind Man City, will be hoping to mount another challenge this season again. The same had happened two seasons back wherein the Gunners battled City. Now it’s twice in a row Arsenal lost the trophy to Pep Guardiola’s Man City. Mikel Arteta will hope to lead his team to their first league title since their invincibles in 2004.
Liverpool had last won the league four years ago under Jurgen Klopp. Now their German manager has departed, and the club has employed a new manager in the name of Arne Slot. Pundits however believe that they will face some transitional phase with him.
Aston Villa thrived in the 2023/24 season. The Villans were able to finish fourth in qualifying for the Champions League for the first time in a while. Michael Owen believes that the team will continue their form and might maintain the energy. Michael Owen Believes that the Unai Emery side might finish fourth.
However, he also considered Ange Postecoglou’s Spurs side challenging for the Top 4. Last season Tottenham Hotspur had looked to contend for the league. The team had a long run of wins until they experienced a big meltdown towards the end of the year. They ended up in fifth.
Manchester United and Chelsea are not on his list
Michael Owen’s prediction of next season’s Top 4 meant he feels that Manchester United and Chelsea won’t make it. As both teams failed to enter the Champions League last season Michael Owen believes they might not make it again this season.
Erik Ten Hag’s Manchester United finished 8th last season. But their FA Cup win against City helped them secure Europa League qualifications. Chelsea had finished 6th but failed to qualify for Europa due to United’s FA win. However, they qualified for the UEFA Conference League. Their new coach Enzo Maresca who took over from Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping to impress the owners. Thus helping the club attain their former glory.
Micheal Owen Speaking About His Predictions
Owen spoke to Prime Casino on his Top 4 views: “Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool and I don’t think there is a standout for fourth. I don’t fancy Manchester United and Chelsea might be back to square one with a new manager so it might be Tottenham or even Aston Villa again.
“It’s impossible to say if Pep [Guardiola] would have won less with Sir Alex Ferguson around, obviously it would’ve given him more competition than he has at the moment, but Manchester City has taken the game to a new level.
Probably the big question is how many titles Liverpool would have won over the last few years if Pep Guardiola wasn’t Man City’s manager. For Liverpool to only win one title with that great team, that just shows you how good Manchester City has been. Let’s just say one or two less if Fergie was in charge at Manchester United, I’m sure. But it won’t be long until Pep Guardiola leaves and that might change things in the Premier League once he leaves because he’s so bloody good, it’s hard to win anything with him in charge at the moment.”
Michael Owen’s Top-Four Prediction
Manchester City
Arsenal
Liverpool
Aston Villa or Tottenham
