Miami Marlins Staring Pitcher Ryan Weathers is producing at a tremendous level over his last three starts. Weathers pitched a masterpiece earlier today on the road earlier today against the Arizona Diamondbacks as the Marlins walked away with a 3-1 victory. He tossed six scoreless innings while surrendering four hits and punching out seven batters.
This three-game hot streak by Weathers began on May 14 in Detroit against the Tigers when he tossed eight scoreless innings but walked away with a no decision due to the game going into extra innings. Miami would end up winning 1-0. Weathers followed up that start by throwing seven innings and surrendering one earned run while striking out eight batters at home against the Milwaukee Brewers. He once again walked away with a no decision as the Miami Marlins won 3-2 in 10 innings.
Weathers is 3-4 this season with an ERA of 3.16. How long will he be able to keep performing at such a high level?

Weathers made his debut in 2021 as a member of the San Diego Padres. He spent parts of his first three seasons in San Diego before being shipped to the Miami Marlins in August of last year in exchange for Garrett Cooper and Sean Reynolds.
Weathers has a career record of 7-19 with an ERA OF 5.25.
Miami Marlins Season Summary
After securing the second National League Wild Card spot last season, the Miami Marlins have come crashing down during the first third of the 2024 regular season. With a record of 19-35, Miami is last in the National League East and has the third-worst record in all of Major League Baseball. As their record would indicate, the Marlins have one of the worst offenses in the league. They are 26th in runs scored, 23rd in home runs, and 20th in batting average. Miami got off to a miserable 0-9 start this season and have yet to find their footing in 2024.
Miami’s offense is led by Left Fielder Bryan De La Cruz and First Baseman Josh Bell. De La Cruz leads the team in batting average and RBI while Bell leads the ballclub in RBI.
The pitching staff of the Marlins has struggled as well this regular season. They are 28th in ERA, 23rd in opposing batting average, and are tied for the last in the league in Quality Starts. Relief Pitcher Tanner Scott has acquitted himself well in what has been a rough few months in the “Sunshine State.” He is 4-4 this season with an ERA of 1.64.
When Will Weathers Take The Mound Next?
The next scheduled start for Weathers is at home on June 1 against the defending World Series champion Texas Rangers. Weathers faced the Rangers on August 5, 2023, in his first start as a member of the Miami Marlins and got roughed up. He surrendered six earned runs over only 3.2 innings of work and was taken deep twice by the Rangers. Weathers will look to continue his recent hot streak and exact some revenge on the World Series champions.
The Miami Marlins begin a three-game series with the San Diego Padres on Monday as their six-game road trip ends on Wednesday.
