The Miami Dolphins made a big splash in free agency when they signed former Buffalo Bills safety Jordan Poyer. Buffalo had to shed some salaries, and the Dolphins were the beneficiary. However, Poyer still has connections within the Buffalo organization. He was at a charity softball game hosted by former teammate Micah Hyde and revealed who he thinks is the best quarterback in the NFL.
Miami Dolphins Jordan Poyer Reveals Pick For Best QB
The answer probably isn’t shocking, considering who Jordan Poyer has watched over the past few years. Even though he is now with the division rival Miami Dolphins, Poyer is sticking with Josh Allen as the best quarterback in the NFL.
“Seven years out here, man. I loved every moment of it. Thank you so much for allowing me to grow as a person, as a player. Teammates, coaches, everybody, man, I loved every moment of it. Sorry we couldn’t get it done, but you’ve got the best quarterback in the league. I know that might go viral, but it’s OK. I get to see y’all twice a year. I can’t wait. You guys come down to Miami. I get to come back to Orchard Park one more time.”
It’s a bold pick considering the level of talent at the position, but Jordan Poyer had a front-row seat to Allen’s play. He got to see him day in and day out. Allen’s dual-threat ability has made him one of the most dangerous quarterbacks in the league, even though the team’s success hasn’t always been in there in the playoffs.
The AFC Is Loaded With Quarterbacks
The talent at the quarterback position in the AFC is truly staggering. Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, Justin Herbert, Trevor Lawrence, CJ Stroud, Joe Burrow, Aaron Rodgers, and Tua Tagovailoa are all above-average quarterbacks. For about half of this list, one could make the case they have the best quarterback in the league. The Miami Dolphins know this, which is likely why they invested in Jordan Poyer to boost their secondary.
Jordan Poyer will get the pleasure of facing his former quarterback twice this season. The Miami Dolphins and Buffalo Bills kick off the Thursday night slate in week 2.
