The Miami Dolphins 2024 season has been subjected to unfortunate twists and turns. Hours before the season kicked off, superstar Tyreek Hill had a run-in with police. Despite ending the interaction unharmed, Hill and Calais Campbell were both handcuffed. The following Thursday came with a matchup with the Bills, unfortunately starting QB Tua Tagovailoa was diagnosed with a concussion during a comeback effort in that game.
The loss of Tua came to haunt the Miami Dolphins against the Seattle Seahawks. Now, three games into the season, the Miami Dolphins sit in a scary position at 1-2.
Miami Dolphins Have Not Led Through Three Games
The Miami Dolphins are the only team in the NFL to not hold a lead for a single second this season 😮

In the Miami Dolphins’ sole win of 2024, they defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars on a walk-off field goal. During this game, South Beach did not lead until the final score of the game. After the disappointing two losses that followed, the Miami Dolphins have yet to secure a lead during a game in this regular season.
Three weeks into the season, a stat like this is not one you want to see your football team land on. The team has no experience playing with a lead which can cause a severe lack of confidence.
Miami Dolphins Injury Struggles
The Miami Dolphins’ postseason chances are in trouble if they do not survive through their slew of injuries. After losing starters like Tua Tagovailoa, Bradley Chubb, OBJ, River Cracraft, and potentially Kendall Fuller and Terron Armstead, the Dolphins could find themselves in huge trouble early in the season. “I think consistency has to be found from the nucleus in the group,” McDaniel said. “The guys that truly know the offense have to really be on it and we have to just keep chopping wood and get better fast. … Those things happen, and you know, every single season, there are teams that find a way to win football games when their starter, or even their backup, is out.”
Final Thoughts
If Mike McDaniel manages to get the Miami Dolphins into playoff contention, it could secure him a bid for coach of the year. However, it looks just short of impossible for the Miami Dolphins to keep their heads above water without Tua Tagovailoa.
