Merab Dvalishvili is going to fight Sean O’Malley in UFC 306. Sean O’Malley holds the title of the Bantamweight Champion, and Dvalishvili will be fighting him. Merab Dvalishvili is a challenger for the Bantamweight title, while Sean will be defending his title against the beast. Sean O’Malley fought a total of 19 fights and won 18 of them but lost 1 of them.
While on the side, Merab Dvalishvili fought 21 fights and won 17 of them but lost 4 of them. This doesn’t mean that Dvalishvili is an easy contestant. They did a face-off recently and that didn’t go smoothly, Merab Dvalishvili hates the attitude of Sean and his team, including his coach. This has enraged Merab, and he will try his best to be the next Bantamweight Champion.
Merab Dvalishvili Clash with Sean’s team
Just a few days after Merab Dvalishvili scheduled a fight against Sean O’Malley, a face-off was scheduled after that. The main purpose of the face-off is for a photo shoot. Both of the bantamweight fighters met up for a photo shoot to start promoting UFC 306.
This massive Batamweight event will be held at the Sphere in Las Vegas. And most importantly this is going to be the most expensive UFC event ever. UFC is putting out a lot of money and effort to make UFC 306 the best event because it got a lot of publicity and fame than ever.
Photoshoot of Fighters
During the photoshoot, Dvalishvili and O’Malley faced off for a staredown, but they were only inches apart before the trash talk began. “We were just doing a faceoff. They wanted us to face off without conversation. But of course, once I saw Sean, he was making fun of me. He was joking, ‘Welcome to the big show,’ and he said, ‘Oh, have you ever been to the main event?’ He was talking to me with sarcasm.”
First, Sean O’Malley started the conversation. So obviously, Merab Dvalishvili wasn’t going to stand there in silence, and he replied, “I said, ‘Yes, of course, I’ve been in the main event before. Remember when I beat the shit out of Petr Yan?’ He didn’t like that. He said, ‘Welcome to the big show. I’ve been here.'”
Merab Dvalishvili Targeting the Coach
The exchange of insults eventually led Dvalishvili to target O’Malley’s head coach, Tim Welch. Welch was not supposed to interfere in the conversation, but he did. It happened after having a clash with former UFC bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling on social media. The argument started when a video from O’Malley’s title fight showed Welch shouting instructions at Sterling from the cage.
Sterling then accused Welch of talking so much trash that the referee had to tell him to be quiet. Dvalishvili responded by promising to slap Welch when they eventually met, which only added to the tension between the two teams. “I have a problem with his coach, Tim. He was very disrespectful to me and he was doing stupid stuff and not respectful things.”
Merab Dvalishvili made it clear to them that if they did the same thing in Basketball or Football, they would kick them out. “Any real coach should never do that, whatever he was doing. Try to do the same thing in basketball, or let’s try to do the same thing in a football game. They will give you a disqualification. Only the UFC can you get out of this. Coach your guy; coach your fighter. Don’t be disrespectful to the opponent. What kind of people do this? Only a snake person does this”
