The Memphis Grizzlies and the Dallas Mavericks will have their second 2K25 Summer League games at Cox Pavilion. The Memphis Grizzlies came from losing in the Salt Lake City summer league as the team went 1-for-2 in three games to a massive 20-point win against the Sacramento Kings (103-83). Though the Grizzlies’ 2024 star rookie, Zach Edey, didn’t show up, the team remained dominant throughout the match. Also, Jaylen Wells fell short of expectations in this debut game.
The Dallas Mavericks start their 2K25 Summer League debut with a one-point loss margin against the Utah Jazz (89-90). Also, the Mavericks started their game slow and gained momentum in the third quarter. However, the back and forth between these teams ended with the Mavericks losing. Now, the Mavericks’ second-round overall pick, Melvin Ajinca, led the team in performance which means he could pose problems for the Grizzlies’ defense.

Memphis Grizzlies
The Grizzlies’ 2024 first-round overall pick, Zach Edey, didn’t play this debut match due to the Coach’s decision. Jaylen Wells, the franchise’s 2024 second-round pick, didn’t do much off the bench as he got six points in 17 minutes of display, making 1-of-6 field goal attempts. During the Salt Lake City Summer League exhibit, Wells put up an impressive performance in two appearances as he averaged 14.5 points and 6.5 rebounds. The Grizzlies forward has the potential of breaking out soon.
Jake LaRavia led the team in terms of performance in their NBA 2K25 Summer League debut. He got 22 points, four rebounds, two assists, and six steals, shooting 46.7% in field goals (7-of-15) and 6-of-6 from the foul line. Scottie Pippen Jr. showed up on both sides of the court as he got 16 points, four assists, three rebounds, and five steals. Also, the Hustle guard made 44% of his field goal attempts and 7-of-8 of his free throws. Thus, this team’s duo could dominate the Mavericks.
Dallas Mavericks
Melvin Ajinca was traded from the New York Knicks to the Mavericks. Further, the 19-year-old forward led the team as the third-best performer against the Utah Jazz. However, Ajinca’s scores were average as he needs to work on his shooting percentage. Thus, the Mavericks’ forward got 13 points, five rebounds, and one point in the following categories: assists, blocks, and steals. Also, he made 5-of-13 field goals (38.4%) and 1-of-5 three-pointers. This summer league match should be his opportunity to improve.
The two-way contract guard, Brandon Willams, led the team in performance as he got 21 points, five assists, four rebounds, and two steals, making 46.7% of his field goals (7-of-15) and 5-of-6 from the charity stripe. Also, A.J. Lawson followed with 16 points, eight rebounds, and one point in these categories: assists, steals, and blocks. However, Lawson should improve his field goal percentage as he made 4-of-16 field goal attempts.
Possible Breakout Players of the Game
Memphis Grizzlies
Dejon Jarreau came off the bench for 11 minutes and scored 11 points while clinching four rebounds, a block, and a steal. Also, Jarreau made 42.9% of his field goal attempts and 5-of-6 free throws. Finally, the guard has experience playing for the Memphis Hustle of the G League. Therefore he should shine if given more minutes to play.
Dallas Mavericks
One of the tallest human beings in the world, Jamarion Sharp could break out during this summer league exhibit. The 7’ 5 center got six rebounds, four points, and four blocks. Sharp’s defense capability at the rim is what to look out for. Also, the Maverick center should work on his free throws as he couldn’t make any in his last match. In college, he played 95 games where he averaged 66.4 FG%, 6.3 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 3.7 blocks per game.
