For the whole of the game, Pakistan was unable to find a rhythm despite Matthews’ superb performance. The first batsman, Muneeba Ali, made a half-century to set himself up for success, but the other players were unable to hold onto the lead. Pakistan’s innings failed because no other hitter could equal the West Indies’ run rate.
Hayley Matthews made sure that the West Indies maintained their advantage throughout the chase by intimidating Pakistani bowlers with her dominant presence at the crease. With ease, Matthews hammered the ball to every part of the ground during her inning, demonstrating a mastery of controlled aggression.
One of Pakistan’s biggest issues was the lack of significant relationships. At one end of the bat, Muneeba Ali displayed determination, but the other batsmen’s failure to build meaningful stands resulted in a halting innings.
Even Muneeba and Nida Dar‘s promising partnership broke down at a critical juncture, stopping Pakistan from launching a last-ditch assault on the West Indies bowlers. Pakistan‘s inability to capitalize on favorable circumstances exacerbated its problems.
Although Pakistan used the pitch to its best potential and offered more support than initially believed, it was not fully used. They could not create a good enough score to threaten the dominant West Indies batting order, therefore their innings finished quite peacefully.
