Arsenal Captain Martin Odegaard has been pivotal to their successful runs this season. The Norwegian midfielder has had a contribution of 17 goals and assists in 34 games. Even without the goals and assists, his impact on the team is always massive. Game tempo control and line-breaking passes have been Arsenal’s greatest attacking attributes. Martin Odegaard was the magician behind it. Arsenal have been overcoming every game bit by bit, thanks to their blitzing form this year. With their upcoming game against Bayern Munich, their Captain has sent a message to the fans.
Martin Odegaard Urges Arsenal Not to Fear Against Bayern Munich
Martin Odegaard was asked about the Bayern Munich game after their victory against Brighton. He stated that Bayern Munich is still a big threat, regardless of its form. Additionally, he was also asked about Harry Kane, whom he has played against before. Martin Odegaard emphasized that Harry Kane will be respected, but they’ll not be focusing on him. Therefore, he stated that their focus will be on themselves. Moreover he was asked if they feared Harry Kane and the Bayern team. It’s known that Arsenal’s record against Bayern in the past has been horrible. Arsenal’s captain told the reporters that even though they respect Harry Kane and the team, they don’t fear them. He also encouraged the fans not to fear the upcoming game at home.
Bayern Munich’s Struggles an Advantage for Arsenal
On paper, Bayern Munich has a team formidable enough to hurt anyone. They’ve got the likes of Musiala, Kane, Gnabry, and Koman in their attack. But so far, it hasn’t been the case. Lately, they squandered away 3 points in their league, giving Bayer Leverkusen the upper hand in winning their league. Despite the caliber of qualities in their side, Bayern Munich have struggled to exert dominance. Both in their attack and defense, they’ve been inconsistent. Their Coach, Thomas Tuchel, has so far been on the hot seat. Yet he has been assured he won’t get sacked this season. This poor form is a great advantage for Arsenal, who, on the contrary, has been in a scintillating form.
Arsenal’s Possible Tactical Approach
Arsenal will be looking to take advantage of Bayern’s poor form. The gunners will plan on dominating the game. Additionally, they’ll try as much as possible not to allow Bayern Munich to get a good hold of the ball. Since the match will be at the Emirate, controlling wouldn’t be much of a problem. Also, Bayern Munich will likely sit back a bit. This will allow Arsenal to pile a lot of pressure against their defense, which can give them the edge. Needless to say, it won’t be a cakewalk.
More hurdles to come them.
After their game on Tuesday, they’ll host Aston Villa at the Emirates. Another game to be wary of for Mikel Arteta’s side. They’ll keep pushing in anticipation of a trophy this season. Already on the top of the table by goal difference, but it’s not enough for them. They’ll need to persevere in the coming games ahead of them.
