Manchester United, and specifically Erik ten Hag, was in a precarious position just a few months ago. After an awful finish by the Red Devils in the Premier League last season, everyone was questioning the future of the club and the gaffer. But, it seems as if the club has completely turned their views around on who to sign, their managerial positions, and their administrative staff.
Perhaps an overhaul of the administration, board, and ownership is precisely what the Mancunian side needs to succeed in the 2024-2025 Premier League campaign.

Looking back at last year, it was a season for the Red Devils to forget. They ended in eighth place, which is way too low for a club of their caliber and financial backing. Now, pundits and betting men believe that United will at least break into the top five after they have secured top-tier signings, like Yoro, and done well in their pre-season matches just a few weeks before the new season starts.
Manchester United offered ten Hag a new two-year deal before the start of this season, guaranteeing him that no matter how they do this year, he is in it to stay. This gives him more confidence and trust in the organization that his future doesn’t necessarily hang in the balance for just one season. Although United interviewed other managers and we’re close to signing a few, Ratcliffe decided that the Dutchman was still the best person for the job.
In addition to keeping the old manager who is in it for the long haul to lead United back to greatness, a lot is going on behind the scenes that is promising for fans and the players themselves. The back-of-house organizational structure, including new staff, a shake-up of how things used to be run, and the owners, can drastically alter how the club will be run moving forward.
The early signings of big-name players, like Leny Yoro and Zirkzee, let everyone know in the footballing world that Untied was here to stay — and they had the money, and backing, to bring in talented young players who were going to be at the club for years to come. Ineos, one of the main staff at the club, has to have a good relationship with ten Hag moving forward for the good vibes to continue. The manager needs to win games, and the backroom staff needs to feel like the money they are putting forward is being put to good use.

Over the summer, heading into the new season, players for Manchester United stayed busy. They participated in the Euros or Copa America and had summers full of games, training, and staying fit, all of which will be good for the English team heading forward. Like Mainoo, who scored in the semifinal of the Euros over the summer, many players were able to stay match-fit by participating in their country’s international competitions.
Hopefully, the cohesiveness between the back-of-house organization and the front-of-house coaching staff can lead to better results for Manchester United this season.
