Haaland Osimhen, Manchester city

Manchester City and Chelsea are playing an FA Cup semi-final match at Wembley Stadium today.

City advanced after a 2-0 win over Newcastle United. Bernardo Silva had a brace in that game. And Stefan Ortega only faced two shots while only needing to make one save.

Chelsea is playing today after a thrilling 4-2 victory over Leicester City. Marc Cucurella, Cole Palmer, Carney Chukwuemeka, and Noni Madueke each found the back of the net. Robert Sanchez faced five shot attempts and was not required to make a save.

But between these two sides, who could you see advancing today?

Manchester City vs. Chelsea Notable Trends

Manchester City

Outside of a 1-0 victory over Tottenham earlier, City has been largely in control and has cruised to a lot of winds in which they’ve controlled the game. It’s known how good this team is and can be, especially at their best.

So far, Erling Haaland has led his team with five goals in this competition. The aforementioned Silva and Phil Foden each have two goals to their name. Kevin De Bruyne continues to be one of the better playmakers, as he has five assists in FA Cup play. And finally, Ortega made four appearances while only conceding twice and being forced to make eight saves.

Chelsea

The path to the semifinals has been a little more adventurous compared to that of Manchester City. This involves a one-goal victory over Leeds. It also saw this Chelsea side tie against Aston Villa 0-0, only to go on to win three to one in the next match.

Conor Gallagher, Enzo Fernandez, and Nicolas Jackson have each scored twice in this competition. Palmer and Raheem Sterling are among those who have only scored once in the FA Cup so far. But Sterling and Malo Gusto have each grabbed three assists.

Finally, Sanchez and Djordje Petrovic have each split time and goal, with the latter having made the most saves with 11 and only allowed one goal against. But Sanchez has allowed four goals in two appearances while only being able to produce one lone save.

Manchester City vs. Chelsea Probable Starting Lineups

Manchester City: Ortega (GK), Walker, Stones, Dias, Ake, Rodri, Foden, De Bruyne, Alvarez, Doku, Haaland

Chelsea: Petrovic (GK), Gusto, Chalobah, Silva, Chilwell, Caicedo, Fernandez, Palmer, Gallagher, Sterling, Jackson

Manchester City vs. Chelsea Head-To-Head

The last two games between these two sides ended in draws. But before that, the previous three Manchester City teams won. However, two of those three victories ended in a 1-0 victory. Furthermore, their last FA Cup encounter was a lopsided affair, as City defeated Chelsea 4-0.

Injury Report

Erling Haaland and Manuel Akanji are doubtful to play with muscle injuries. Chelsea have a long list of players who have been injured but are expected back soon. Levi Colwill, Wesley Fofana, Robert Sánchez, and Christopher Nkunku should be able to suit up before too long. Finally, Axel Disasi is doubtful to be able to play against Manchester City today.
